On the 23rd of August the first systems in catch fell to Against all authorities, since that time Against all authorities have been working to reclaim all of their ancestral homeland. When Against all authorities began hitting the CVA held system of ERVK-P Provi-block rose up to chase the attackers out of what is largely regarded as “Greater Providence space” by many. When The Initative. decided to take the initiative and leave The Dinner Squadron and head to Delve they left Tribal Band as the Stewards of Catch. Tribal Band took the challenge on and charged into battle against the Russians. Unfortunately for them they lost the battle and soon fail cascaded. A deal was then struck between The Initiative and Volition cult, The Initiative would transfer 6 systems in Northern catch (Bordering the Volition cult owned system of ZQ-Z3Y) to Volition cult ownership. Volition cult seeing that Against all authorities would soon be the undisputed owners of Catch asked Against all authorities for their blessing to take these systems, Against all authorities refused to let them take the systems. The battle of ERVK-P then took place and since that time we have seen no Russian movements in Northern Catch, until now. Starting 6 days ago Against all authorities declared war on Volition cult officially, they war decced volition cult and began to SBU Y-MPWL (home of volition cult), and SBU ZQ-Z3Y (a volition cult held system in northern catch) reports have it that Against all authorities have used Supers to quickly Reinforce the I-HUB and Station in ZQ and have logged them off in Y-M.

Recently I sat down with Corebloodbrothers (Head FC of provi-block and a well known and respected member of Volition cult) and Alhana Starrbreeze (Leader of Against all authorities) to discuss the situation.

flatterpillo > So recently we’ve seen a drastic increase in AAA’s activity in Catch and VOLT areas of Providence, what are you looking to achieve from this?
Alhana Starrbreeze > as i said we will take all systems in catch.
flatterpillo > What about your activity in Providence? Are you looking to invade providence?
Alhana Starrbreeze > We don’t want to invade Providence because it’s such a good place to teach our junior fcs :)
flatterpillo > it would appear as if you have a grudge against VOLT, is this true and if so why?
Alhana Starrbreeze > They have been running to hi sec when fighting against us in hed
flatterpillo > what of the SBU’s you have been putting up in Y-M recently?
Alhana Starrbreeze > They are just for good fights
flatterpillo > At the moment Volition cult has 5 war dec’s against them, initially AAA war decced them, over the space of a few days we have seen 4 more war dec’s added onto your initial one. Did AAA hire mercenary groups to war dec Volition cult?
Alhana Starrbreeze > We are not inviting people to this war. I don’t know why they joined in, we can kick volition cult without the need to hire mercenaries :)

There are a few holes in Alhana’s story though. Syrian Natural Gas Co., The Marmite Collective and The Pursuit of Happiness are all mercenary groups. Why would they war dec Volition cult if not hired by someone? While it is certainly possible that AAA hired these mercenary groups to harass Volition cult operations in high-sec there is also another possibility.

After the recent battles of 9UY4-H and their unsucsessful attempt to turn the station in 9UY4-H into a Freeport, Insidious Empire have decided to head home.

Phreeze sent this alliance mail out a few days ago:

We’ve had great fleets this deployment, big fights with 1600+ in local, had good laughs while welping CVA nerds into several traps, we’ve seen new FC’s dipping their toes into alliance-wide fleets, and who can ever forget our involvement in Asakai 2.0; the destruction of the BL super fleet. To all good things however must come an end, and this rapid deployment will end on November 6th.Up till Nov 6th daily fleets will still be going out, we still have CSAA’s planned in a couple of hours and if they happen to be saved we will re-reinforce them for a weekend time to end this deployment with some sweet coathangering. Our recon team will be providing limited cyno-chains back up to Cobalt Edge on the 7th and 8th in both EU and US tz’s. However if you have a chain available and you are about to light it, try to get as many ppl with you as you can and share the love. After our deployment is done, for all nefarious deeds
I refer you towards signing up to the Blops group who are going to be doing some cool stuff.

After this announcement some Insidious empire members began wondering what those who did not own a black ops ship would do. Phreeze was quick to react with this alliance mail:

So recently there’s been some talk about going Freighter ganking https://forum.insidiousempire.net/index.php?topic=1637.0 and a lot of people seemed interested in the notion, so I’m stepping up to herd the cats. Assuming no CTAs get scheduled during the fleet window the fleet will be as per the following:FC: MeWhat: Gank Brutix (60m, 1203dps)Tornado/Talos(95m, 1547dps) Gank Thorax(23m, 884dps) Gank Catalyst(12m, 686dps) Newbro ~sopoor~ Catalyst(1.4m isk, 400dps)Where: Leaving from Assah in newbships, and swing by Amarr on the way to Niarja.Duration: Untill we get bored and/or drop below the critical mass necessary to make kills.Reimbursable: No, but if we get all the ships/alts necessary we may be able to scoop the wrecks and make some money. I won’t make any promises because while I’ve seen 30 Tengus dropped in one gank I’ve also seen 10B of BPOs get destroyed, it’s shit luck on what survives. We’re also going to need decent numbers for this because
the more people we have the less expensive it gets. EX: a catalyst does 1/2 the damage of a Brutix but costs only 1/5th as much so if we get good numbers everyone can fly cheap shit. A note on the Talos, unless you have T2 Large Hybrids fly a Brutix, you all should have Medium T2 Hybrids so that’s probably going to be the ship w/ the best damage for you. Before this fleet every pilot attending needs to get their sec status to -4.0 or higher, preferably above -3.5. If your below that the faction police will bend you over and fuck your ass as soon as you idle on grid for more than 3 seconds. We will mock you. Fortunately for the lazy nerds among us (including myself) CCP added tags in Odyssey that you can redeem for security status, they’re actually pretty cheap to buy off the open market. I’ll put fits up shortly.

Watch out High-sec dwellers, Insidious empire is on the move.

So with insidious empire leaving, what will happen to Noir. and Sound? Well put your tin-foil hats on for a second gents and lets see where we can go with this.
What does AAA want from Provi? good fights. What does AAA not want from Provi? for it to be a threat to its holdings in Catch. Why would current providence be a problem to AAA? Lets say AAA gets involved in the upcoming war between CFC and N3 and joins either side, they deploy south into either Querious or Immensea and so they are deployed away from providence for a while, lets say Providence then decides that actually they want their systems in Northern catch back (ERVK-P, ZQ-Z3Y, etc.) this could seriously cripple AAA’s war contribution. So how does AAA stop this problem before it can become a problem? They need to weaken Providence to the point where it can no longer be considered a threat. We’ve already seen how Provi-Bloc could nearly take on Stainwagon at the battle of ERVK-P and with the recent events in 9UY4-H Providence is certainly maturing itself into a semi-capable PVP entity. So how would AAA weaken providence? Well 2 options really, they could attempt to separate North and South providence which would severly hurt their logistical capabilites but CVA could just reclaim a system in North Provi and setup a Jump Bridge from that system to their staging system. OR AAA could remove the strongest holder in Provi-bloc, Volition cult. With Volition cult out of the picture, Provi-bloc would loose their most competent FC and an alliance that can field 100+ on a bad night. AAA could always target CVA but it is doubtful they would be able to get a entity whos entire existence revolves around Providence to leave Providence, Volition cult however has been around since 2006 and has only recently (last year) joined Provi-Bloc and so would undoubtfuly be easier to remove from the equation.

But what about Noir./Sound? Well keep in mind that this summer we saw the Provi-bloc civil war erupt between SOUND and VOLT (yes the rest of Provi-bloc joined onto VOLT’s side but VOLT was the main target of much of SOUND’S hate campaigns.) What if Noir./Sound are helping out AAA and hiring Merc’s in exchange for AAA helping them turn 9UY4-H into a free port? Well this idea could certainly be a possibility but honestly? its doubtful. Consider the fact that in the most recent battle for 9UY4-H we saw Stainwagon helping out Provi-Bloc to keep the attackers achieving their objective of turning 9UY4-H into a freeport.

Ok, tinfoil hats off. Lets get back to the facts.

The I-HUB was set to come out 12:30 eve time this morning. Provi-Bloc formed up a sentry fleet to defend the I-HUB shield timer, Against all authorities showed up with a handful (30 tops) of oracles which were quickly dispatched by Provi-Bloc forces. Provi-Bloc then dropped dreadnoughts onto field to quickly remove the SBU’s in system. They then proceeded to rep up the I-HUB. The station timer is set to come out at 1900 tomorrow. With the recent battles for 9UY4-H we saw the whole of eve (not literally) get involved with the fighting, mainly just to get kills, will we see this again with ZQ-Z3Y? and more importantly after Provi-Bloc’s loss at ERVK-P against the Stainwagon forces and with their Victory at 9UY4-H against Insidious Empire forces, does providence now have the experience, confidence and manpower to stem the Russian advance into Provi-bloc held Northern catch? or will this system fall as so many have over the years to AAA.

With all respect to core, he’s not ‘the most competent’ FC in ProviBloc. But he is one of the most dedicated and proactive.

Core knows exactly what he is doing, and understand when he says “don’t worry about your ships I know how to get them destroyed” he really does mean it. I have never been in his fleet with the idea of surviving. That I do end up surviving some of them almost seems magical considering. Be that as it may, if the cta goes up and I can I will be there. BTW Will is the better CTA FC, and he is by no mean even close to the the FC’s who don’t do CTA’s (Black is a prime example).

Dyntheos and Ladel are by far the most competent FCs in Providence, it’s just a shame that Ladel rarely likes to FC larger non-skirmish fleets and Dyntheos is largely inactive compared to what he used to be. -7- FCs are also very competent, however they are all US TZ which means they rarely FC the bigger Provi-Bloc fleets. The rest of the FCs in Provi aren’t actually that competent at all, Core at best has basic FC knowledge/skill and usually relies on lots of numbers and whelping to get his objectives done, although this strategy works well, he is just an amazing morale raiser and excellent at raising numbers for his fleets.

Clearly, you paid no fucking attention when inside Sound, that or you are making shit up. Xavier was far from brainwashing, most of what he does was called stern teaching. He enforced fits he created for his fleets, and if asked at the right time, he was happy to explain the theory behind it. As a veteran of Sound, I’m fucking happy he did, I might be considered not a moron player thanks to him and the other Sound players.

What Xavier did/does in Sound is teach new players how to PvP in a fleet. He is gruff sure, but a teacher at heart. It’s better than all the alliances out there (spoilers, many provi alliances) who drop you in a fleet, tell you to bring XYZ ship, shut the fuck up and press F1 or assign drones. This is why Sound doesn’t end up with fucking kitchen sink fleets.

Furthermore, I don’t see how mandating certain fits is any different than what the rest of fucking null demands. I don’t see grunt CFC player A demanding to know why the CFC fits their megas the way they do. Brainwashing? I’m sorry, welcome to fucking nullsec Eve, you get told what you should believe; it’s called propaganda you twat.

On the non-stupid part of your comment, let me honest, SOUND/NOIR are not the main players in the fights, our ideas, not so much our muscle. We tried to take 9uy with EMP, a few mercs, and a small newbro former provi residents. It didn’t work, anyone fucking surprised by the shocking revelation that sov is hard to take, and having less numbers means you lose?

Also, Provi-block isn’t growing, it’s numbers have been static for months. The only difference is they are replacing old CVA members with the far less intelligent, less skilled, less skillpoints, not-api checked and lead by at best questionable leaders in VOLT.

Provi these days is not really NRDS and the sick man in null sov space. If -A- makes a half hearted attempt at taking Provi, they will take it. No alliance in provi sticks it’s head out for the others.

(Full disclosure, XavierVE doesn’t lead SOUND anymore.)

Confirming that VOLT is full of F1 pushers with no initiative. They have 1 FC who can pull numbers but wipes fleets due to stupid errors and refuses to learn and the rest are straight up utterly terrible. Provi bloc would be better kicking VOLT for being gobshites and replacing them with Silent Ascension (SIA) who deserve credit for showing up with 100 people and put everyone else to shame. Also kick AFK, CF and TSOE. Why these alliances are relevant to be given sov despite contributing near to zero in provi is beyond me. No wonder we suck when we have so much dead weight (AFK 1.5k members and does fuck all, like 3 people pvp.)

Surprisingly, taking the “we must be l33t” approached doesn’t actually have any impact in null sec growth, it only stunts your growth and ruins your capabilities. Even so called “l33t” alliances like NC. have a fuck load of F1 monkeys, not even that now Sentry doctrines are a thing. πŸ˜›

VOLT is a great entity for Providence, bringing numbers, in the correct ships and a very active and inspiring FC. Goons aren’t exactly high skill nor amazing, they just have a lot of people wanting to have fun and keep morale high and it wins them wars, that is how null sec works…. although VOLT could do with some work on their Capital fits. πŸ˜›

That’s a dead beaten horse, Provi will never kick TSOE/CF/AFK no matter how much people whine about them πŸ˜›

Someone should bring New eden industrie into the coalition, teach them how to fit doctrines and get them involved, they were pulling 100~ man Battleship fleets to hit SOUND, they deserve SOV more then AFK/CF/TSOE combined.

SOUND doesn’t get kitchen sink fleets? Let’s whelp Armor Cruisers/BCs into them to hold them down, gogogo! As far as I can see the majority of Provis doctrine fleets have the bulk of fleet in Prophecies/Geddons or Domis atm.

Xavier may not run the alliance any more, but that doesn’t mean his bittervet influence doesn’t impact the current leadership, when they do things to keep him happy and everyone takes his word as the word of god or some shit.

There’s a complete difference between thinking outside the box and making fits which works, then completely refusing to ever go inside the box and literally trying to re-create fittings that have already, time and time again, been proven to be the most efficient way. Xavier is just to stubborn to use someone elses idea and thinks his fits are amazing and the be all end all.
I too fit 800mm plates to my BCs, I too fly Single Plated Typhoons and call them “kiting battleships”, I too fit deadspace modules and cap boosters on my Augorors.

Provi-Bloc is growing, when I first came to provi you’d struggle to pull a 50 man Oracle fleet, in ships that actually resembled an Oracle fleet and Northern Provi were nearly completely secluded from the rest. Now Provi is able to pull 200 man Prophecy/Naga fleets and Northern Provi is now involved more. Sure, the competence levels can be quite low in areas, but when in nullsec is there true non-F1 pushing competence any more?

I talked about sound positive because my interaction with them was far superior to my interaction with Volt. When a door needed to be closed for no glory who got the call? Sound. When the timer was in a bad slot who led the flets? Sound. When you needed a solid bombing run who got the call? Sound. Sound on the inside took in players who had zero business being in null, and manged to hold two pipe systems so effectively that durring US TZ it was litterally a race to see who could kill more. Sound might have been rotten IDK, but I do know they did things no other alliance in provie would have done.

Core is a very good FC, and the most active in Provi, which is part of Proviblocs problems. A lack of experienced FC,s. Especially within CVA itself as hardly any Provibloc fleets are led by anyone from CVA.
In fact, VOLT rather than CVA is the main force in Providence now. VOLT has more members than CVA, and most Provi fleets are led by VOLT. CVA seems to have fallen into a bit of a rut. I hope Equinox can address these problems and get some of the inactive bittervets to step up a bit more.

All it takes is for CVA to teach some new FCs, trim the fat (Inactive/non-contributing member) and start recruiting heavily again. VOLT is growing far more rapidly then CVA because VOLT caters for lower SP/newer to null sec players better and has less of “bittervet” attitude around them.

It’s just what Provi will provide whether implied as intended or not.

Every single entity that has tried lately lacks conviction enough to overcome the timer lotto.

If you don’t have enough commitment to contain the consequences of randomness derived from a timer, you’ll never convince anyone of your pretensions. Not even the dwellers of what you think you’re invading.

If -A- where to take a ZQ-Z3Y or any system in Providence, it would because Stainwagon would support it in word and action. -A- could never take any system by it self with force.

They have been trying to take Mildly Intoxicated systems in Catch, and to-date, not a single system has fallen to -A-

And donΒ΄t forget, the only reason -A- hold most of Catch, there was never any real fighting involved.

mmmm….. if you talked to both sides as you state in the article, where’s the other perspective? What no convo?

It’ll be interesting to see if -A- and pets can actually hold Catch against the 2 largest coalitions in EVE (CFC and N3) who will probably be more than happy to have a new place to “train their junior FCs”, as a strategic alliance with -A- really wouldn’t gain them anything (other than expendable russian troops, but hey, historically, that can work, see: Battle of Stalingrad).

-A- and petfriends have not shown a willingness to grind sov when faced with large subcap fleets that won’t fight in -A-‘s primetime.

Closely examine the Dotlan Sov map for Catch, and look at the dates -A- took SOV in most of Northern Catch. It was gifted to them, you can’t find any evidence of actual fights for 95% of it on killboards. Let’s face it, 5 Brave Newbies (represent BN!) pilots with SBs and a truckoad of torps could have taken the SOV in Northern Catch after INIT pulled out.

Interesting to note that most of the groups involved in the attempt to make 9UY-H a freeport who were not in it for the gudfights or paid guns are non-sov holding entities (SOUND) that haven’t recently shown any ability to fight timers and hold them. Otherwise they might actually have their own space by now, and not be forced to try to whelp on Provi-Bloc because they got fought to a standstill (4b & 9-F) and later on couldn’t afford to pay their mercs any longer on engaging 9UY-H….

I hate to admit this as a provi-bloc sympathizer but SW is pretty good. Their first timer against PL+N3 (which outnumber SW 2:1) they did pretty well with a nice 24b killed and 14b lost. http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=19907390 that was pretty much the only “real” fight they got over the system, and 9 days later -A- managed to take it without any -DD- assistance and only losing like 1.5b to kill the ihub and flip the system.

I don’t particularily like SW and especially not -A-, and I doubt they would be able to take on the CFC or the full might of N3, but don’t get too cocky and comfortable :)

        This is true,
Stainwagon can and will outblob Provibloc. Plus Stainwagon pilots are generally much higher SP then Provibloc, which means they can field superior doctrines.
I remember fighting the Stainwagon Rail Tengu fleets in the EVRK battles, and wishing that Provibloc was capable of fielding fleets of 60-80 T3s.

High SP isn’t an issue with T3 doctrines, they’re not all that skill intensive compared to the BS-centric doctrines of olde. The issue is Provi doesn’t generate enough income to maintain an SRP that supports T3 doctrines. It’s hard enough for them as it is to support BS-centric doctrine SRP.

Well as a leader of YF I can assure you this isn’t true at all. We’ll fight along side our provi-bloc allies until the last ship. There has been no instruction for our members to avoid any fleets whatsover. So i don’t know who your source is but they are wrong. Check the KB’s for the 9UY battles. YF had the 3rd highest attendence ( VOLT and CVA are larger alliances). There is no evidence at all that the YF is one of the alliances that doesnt want to fight on…

We’re usually there, but we’re second biggest by numbers due to alts more than anything else. You’re probably bothering us on the wrong screen. :)
That being said, AFK’s fleet presence isn’t usually that high because we have a substantially smaller EU presence that most provi bloc members. We have more US and AU TZ than EU. Also, as said before, lots of alts, which is great for mining and carebearing but not great for PVP.

Will confirm that AFK is supposed to be sitting out fights in Catch. Some are still participating but alliance leadership wants nothing to do with it. Felt VOLT’s actions were retarded and continuing the fight just increases likelihood of a serious grudge that doesn’t serve our non-expansionist carebear interests.

  18. Idle Speculation

With the breaking news that Stainwagon/Solar Fleet/Black Legion are about to go toe to toe with N3 it will be interesting to see what ‘effort’ -A- can really dedicate to this Northern Catch campaign. It will surely be a sideshow if the other bloc war kicks off – and that may give Provi Bloc the opportunity to consolidate. Saying that elements of Stainwagon (but not -A-) actually helped Provi Bloc in the recent invasion – so will be interesting to see if -A- is as committed to the war against N3 as the rest of the southern block is. In other words will -A- use Northern Catch as an excuse to not help their bro’s vs N3…

-A- helped CVA not VOLT in the fights in 9UY, VOLT broke several agreements with provi block and stain co, hence why -A- are harrasing VOLT like crazy, we were just doing it for the PVP we dont care for provi sov.

I am not in VOLT anymore but that is pure bullshit.

There were no agreements between Provi Bloc and Stain Wagon. A few months ago your alliance leader Alhana declared that any agreements with the former leadership of -A- were null and void, that was after INIT gave VOLT a few systems in Catch next to ZQ-Z3Y which you claim VOLT took from -A- even though -A- did not have sov there to begin with. After that you took space from CVA, the system ERVK-P.

-A- helped CVA because if N3 took over Providence they would be in a good position to take Catch as well. The only reason -A- is harrassing VOLT is because of bored and butthurt Black Aces, never really seen any other -A- guys running around in VOLT systems. You are one of them I presume, General Gree?

The Ironic thing is that if -A- had not decided that it wanted all of Catch and attacked ERV the Provi block would have probably sat back and accepted them as neighbours, Provi Block is proverbially not an aggressive coalition with no aggressive expansionist tendencies, even -A-‘s response to the deal between The Initiative and VOLT would probably not have triggered anything. Though unsuccessful the defence of ERV showed the Provi Block that they could stand up and provide a reasonable defence, 9UY just proved (abet with help from other quarters) that they can. The Provi Block has finally found that they are capable, any entity expecting to walk their way through Providence will not find it as easy as they expected.

provi hasn’t been a aggressive coalition they instead have tried to make provi a place where new players can come and learn some of what 00 life is a bout .But this last year has seen provi become a theme park for any bored who either cant fight their real enemy’s .Provi needs to change or should I say update their way of doing things to better deal with the realities on eve as it currently exists .
what provi needs is a invite only process for these currently neutral pilots who in actually are not neutral at all the roam around looking for pilots going about their dally actives and the hot drop on them with little or no fear of reprisal this needs to stop .A once noble concept no longer works it is hurting provi and is no longer a valid concept in todays eve

what should provi do ,no more nerds go to a limited nbsi policy with generous avenues to come out to play in provi I would set up a corp and have all solo pilots join this corp that would be limited to cva space prob in the 4 systems around catch( as an example) for corps they join a alliance and they will also be in a designated area. That they must stay in no roaming into sov holders space you do with out zzzz papers u get your ship is subject to attack and if u sitting at a jb you is podded.
their will be a rental fee make it small they will be given a +2 standing or something along those lines say 10 mil per pilot all pilots corps alliances will have to provide full api key .
I know this will prob get a bunch or childish responses with lots of personal attack`s but it is just a idea one I hope provi leaders will look into
the current + standing corps and alliances wont be effected by these rules .
