It’s time for an update. This one is aimed at giving you a better sense of our current operations in Curse, and addressing some lingering concerns about recent events and our future objectives.

TL;DR: Curse is home. We will be living here for at least the next 2-3 months, starting today.

You should have combat ships here: Talwars, Thoraxes, bombers, Prophecies, and AHACs — the PVP is plentiful and pretty fucking fun. You should also feel comfortable digging into whichever local money-making option(s) you prefer. If you are not here yet, you need to get here now, and we’re going to help.

—————–

Realtalk: the initial deployment sucked. We – the leadership – did too little to help our most vulnerable members get from A to B. L’Affaire Ransom was a sad little cherry on top of that shit sundae. We should have done more, and we’re trying to fix that now. But remember that we’re moving because we lost a sov-war. It’s unrealistic to expect that the financial fallout won’t be felt at the individual level in addition to the corporate/alliance level. It sucks, but it’s true. The sooner everyone gets there, the better it will be for all of us.

If you are still fully or partially in Soliara, we are organizing and subsidizing a series of carrier move ops this weekend. Contract the ships you need moved from Soliara –> G-0 to theDisto (Mildir, Dreddit Shadow Director, and all-around stand-up guy). We are offering the service more-or-less at cost: 50 isk/m3.

Please do three things before contracting: (1) name your ships with your character name (i.e., I would name all of my ships “Groo Nordic” regardless of what they were); (2) remove EVERYTHING from the cargoholds except ammo and charges. If you aren’t sure if something counts as one of those two, take it out; and (3) be considerate about what ships you ask us to move for you. We’re trying to get as many ships moved for as many people as possible. Don’t be that guy who hands over 8 off-doctrine battleships.

Also, important note: these move ops are alliance-supported, not alliance insured. We’re gathering up trustworthy carrier-bros to lend a hand, but if someone is sufficiently committed to scamming you (and by the way, fuck you – of all the ways to steal from an alliance, this is a pretty low way to scam for isk), there are no fool-proof precautions other than not handing your stuff over. That being said, we’re trying to arrange it so that the most that could be stolen is one carrier’s load worth of stuff.

Get your capitals to Curse. This means you too, Dreads. It’s that time again, and we have things to do. We have a list of money-making targets, and we’re going to throw our weight around. Look to the relevant groups/pings for more info.

Doctrines and Training. After much soul-searching, we have decided to scrap all our doctrines again and go full Caldari – train immediately for t2 torps and cruise, Caldari BS 5 — it’s Raven time!!! we are quite content with our current set of doctrines. Our day-to-day fleet comps consist primarily of Talwars, Pim Pam (Officially to be retired on 2013/09/27 :911:), LongDongs, Prophecies, and Freedom Fighter bombers, and respective support ships/logistics. Those should be the primary training focus for newbros. Megathrons will be our workhorse BS doctrine, so if you’re a line member and you’ve got all of the basics out of the way, that’s the next step. We may also trot out ArmourHACs if the opportunity presents itself, but don’t prioritize training into a Zealot/Legion unless you’re set on our core doctrines. Doctrine conformity information here:

https://wiki.pleaseignore.com/wiki/Doctrines:

More skilled pilots should be training into Ishtars, which we intend to get bombed in soon. Please realize that Ishtars are a sig-tanking doctrine like AHACS – not an end-all-be-all #Drake2013 doctrine – and have a specified purpose, like AHACs. Ishtars are also easy-mode for ratting and missioning: one unnamed mildir has made 5b isk in two weeks casually doing L4s. In addition to Ishtars, Gallente Cruiser 5 opens up a ton of other really useful ships. Long story short, you’re getting a lot out of your training time.

Finally, as always, if you’re a vet, get your ass into a slowcat (Archon supremacy) and/or a dread (all three are fine, but yay Moros). Also, something something suitcase carrier something.

Curse is a great place to make money. G-0 is probably the nastiest mission-hub in the game. In case you were unaware, Angel LP shits out Dramiel, Cynabal and Machariel BPCs, along with Halo sets. Turns out these are some of the best LP-to-ISK conversion items in the game. If you need advice on how to tap into this faucet, theDisto has put together a very helpful guide:

https://forum.pleaseignore.com/topic/53154-thedisto-guide-to-mission-running/

To make this even easier and safer for you, our Logistics Team has set up POSes throughout the Hale constellation so that you can stage/safe-up/etc… Also, the local market is thriving: in less than a two weeks, G-0 became the second largest null-sec trade hub, behind only VFK (http://eve-marketdata.com/station.php?step=Rank). For all of the bitching we do about fuck-TEST prices, that’s some impressive shit right there. If you haven’t already, thank your local Dreideler or other importer. See a hole in the market? There’s money to be made filling it. Hurray capitalism.

Curse is a great place for PVP. You can literally get any kind of PVP you want here: home defense/standing fleets, gates to camp, locals to purge, roaming gangs to tangle with, structures to shoot, and a seemingly endless stream of Townsaver’s capitals aggressed on the undock to save. Also, a special shoutout to L-two-azorclear for being a boss, and running way more than his fair share of fleets. TEST Content Creation, Please Do Not Ignore. Also, thanks to all of the new FCs who have stepped up in the last few weeks. We have some budding talents, and we’re always looking for more. As noted above, Recon has been hard at work scanning a lot of space, and we now have a list of strategic targets that will keep us busy for awhile. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at FCing, now is time. If you’re already in FC Bootcamp, speak up: ask for targets, and ye shall receive.

TEST and Razor in PVP against each other; it’s like putting 2 eunuchs in the same room and wait if they have sex.

I always think the real pvp happens in NPC NULL. The reason being is that you have to have a certain mentallity when you live there. I think alot of Sov holding Alliances get sloppy and rely on their intel to much. Also alot of dudes dont want to find their own pvp and just wait for fleets which kinda sucks. … Great place for anyone to get some nice fights and learn to live in a jungle.

    And Lyonic is cool-oolio!
