6VDT was fought valiantly today by TEST alliance and friends against the CFC, needless to say it looks like the outcome of the campaign was to decided before the first shot was fired today:

— TEST Forums Announcement —-

Today we fought in 6VDT. We didn’t fight to save the station, we didn’t fight to win an ISK war, and we didn’t fight to turn the war around.

We fought today because we need to show the game that we play a bit differently than you’re ‘supposed’ to. Because we want to show the galaxy that all problems aside we can still field about as many autists as anyone else in the game – coalition or not – instead of standing down and crying in the corner like other alliances faced with the same fate.

We fought because TEST stands together in the face of certain, guaranteed death.

I wanted to give Fountain one HELL of a sendoff, and it’s incredibly appropriate that it took place in our home system of 2+ years.

This war has taught us many things – We’ve learned what we can do at our best, and we’ve learned what we need to do to properly support our FCs, leadership, and membership.

We made an absolutely fantastic showing today. We fielded more members than any single alliance has ever seen – we even had twice what CONDI alone brought – and we set a record for the largest fight EVE has ever seen by a few hundred pilots, maybe even a thousand. Hell, TRIBE pulled more numbers than anyone in the CFC besides goons. Even our bros RIOT brought a big chunk of spaceships.

So with all that said, we’ve been losing a defensive war for about two weeks now. As soon as our big strong capfleet-toting allies had to run home, the CFC pulled out all the stops, and TEST was unable to keep up on our own. They practically rolled through Fountain unopposed.

This isn’t the fault of our members. It isn’t our FCs faults, or our mildir’s fault, or logi, or recon, or our corp CEOs… This war has been an immense team effort, and one of the most significant things we’ve learned is that our team needs some improvement before we can function together well enough to pull off a large scale war like this.

What can be done about this?

First off, we’re going to undeploy and head back to NOL in Delve.
Delve is a slightly more defensible position, and our allies seem to prefer fighting here. But that’s not why we need to retreat.

We need time to do the work we should’ve done 3 months ago. 3 years ago. We have to clean up our leadership groups and structure in order to handle something as significant as a full on coalition-level war – or something as simple as record-breaking activity numbers.

The CFC will almost definitely attack Delve, either in a continuation of their full-scale invasion, or with prodding tests like we saw before 1-SMEB. It will give us an opportunity to put some strain on a rebuilt leadership structure and see how we function. I will be constantly re-evaluating our position the entire time, but for now that’s the plan.

On the topic of leadership re-structuring, we’re going to do something TEST has never seen before, and bring FCs even more into the fold of day-to-day leadership-ing; this will allow all leadership groups to provide them the proper support that historically has gone through a select 2 or 3 military people. That’s about all that’s set in stone so far, you’ll hear more later on. Also, shortbus/schoolyard are being reformed and given less stupid names.

I can only hope that you don’t feel I’ve thrown away your donations to the alliance. Ultimately, the sov is here so we have something to fight about, and I felt it best to spend our cash in the bloodiest, largest, most amazing fight the EVE community or even the video game community at large has ever seen.

So fellow TESTies, follow me back to Delve, and let’s set out on a journey to make TEST the alliance this community deserves.

Test didn’t even lose the war when they got their asses beat in 6VDT. they lost it when they basically handed PNQY-Y to the Goons. PNQ is the lynchpin of Fountain, whoever controls that system controls the region.

    July 29, 2013 at 5:34 am Reply
    1. Incizion

Serious question: why would you consider PNQY-Y the lynchpin of Fountain over, say, 9-VO0Q, right next door? What makes that system special?

      July 29, 2013 at 6:43 pm Reply
      1. azurenightmare

It’s the hardest system to take from the hands of the controlling alliance in Fountain. Its difficulty stems from it having two dead end systems next door and only one thoroughfare into it. PNQ would have and should have been the toughest fight in Fountain for the Goons due to the conditions I just described.

And now the goon RMT machine kicks into a gear never seen before on Tranquility, as the goons control the largest percentage of T2 raw materials ever. And THAT will be nothing compared to when the goon soundwave wipes out T2 manufacturing in high sec and hands that also to null sec.

PL will get their cut, no doubt. They must have been told a couple weeks ago “don’t rock the boat, if you want to stay in the RMT game.”

Eve has now entered the phase of a single economic superpower, playing by a different set of rules, as their RMT operations are well protected by their agents and collaborators within CCP.

While the damage that the null sec cartel members on the CSM, soundwave, and the other null sec cartel members already working within CCP will do the deepest damage to high sec, what I fear in the immediate term will be the unfettered harassment goons will inflict on high sec now that they have no one to deal with in null.

just follow the money. and that would be coming / going where ? as long as one single entitiy with several thousand pilots / accounts all call out with he exact same opinion (“yay goons are the best now give us our due”), as long as goon leadership does a great job (hat to admit it but they do) to make sense on a lot of things all the while scheming to turn eve into their private game of spaceships with other parties involved…as long as they mask their true intentions with new “ideas” of “emergent gameplay” like ice interdiction, Tech Monopoly, now T2 monopoly.. as long as they do all that, why would CCP ever even consider to check them as properly as other scumbags who work in the RMT business….

as long as goons buy the occasional stacks of PLEX from CCP they will be content with letting them run their way.
goons are symbolic for eve as it is right now, gamewisem, press / newswise, and CCP loves them for it. the “masterspies behind the curtain”, the people that see trends and movements, and possible exploits whithin the games as fast as anybody.
If CCP wants to stay true to their goal of the ultimate sandbox, they will never do anything to stop them , even though the goons openly say that griefing is their main motivation to even log in. Remember, goons are not here to destroy eve.. they are just here to destroy eve for everyone else….
the only real way to stop them right now is blueball them and eve and just stop to log in altogether until they get bored by just seeing blues all the time.
and CCP knows that. so they throw all the others a bone here and there just to keep their bros occupied and happy.

          3. distant-observer

well, because if they really do that kind of stuff, it didnt really affect me all too much up until now. fleet battles , pvp fights and all that I have been into was – for the most part – fun so far. for all I care they could sell their asses off , it is not me who blames people for abusing systems that were put in place by others. thats like complaining about tax evasion although the laws in place are in place for everyone.

But I do think, from the game companies point of view, catering too much to the specific coalition / alliance needs and style of play is actually neither a: good for the game and b: does not improve the companies status of being neutral and really interested in all players and opinions.

i admit I have no receipe for balacing out wants and needs of all parties and stakeholders, but seems to me that some, more than others alwayys come out on top , better prepared and adjusting much much faster than any others. seems odd to me, but again. maybe just me

I think you’ll find if anything CCP has ended up catering to any well organised group with their changes. Goons and the CFC have repeatedly shown they are the most organised group in the game. This makes them the people who will always benefit from those kinds of changes. It’s not a Goonspiracy/CCP it’s organisation.

I don’t like goons from a “gotta have someone to hate” mentality but everytime mechanics changed in the last 2 years Goons have been on top of it within an hour of the patch notes getting stuff in place to make money from it. They don’t get handed things they are just incredibly and ruthlessly organised about these things.
I hate to say it I wish just one of my alliances from my history had been half as on the ball as the Goons market/financial team.
            Grrrrr Goons

WOW!! I cannot believe what a piece of shit this guy is. Do you guys know why people like Alex Jones are famous? ? It is for the
very reason that agents of preserving the status quo can use these people to discredit others. This is the reason why
whack-jobs like Alex Jones are famous. Cuz they’re totally bat shit crazy so if you question something you’re not supposed to, someone can point the finger and say “look that guy is
just like Alex Jones” and guaranteed you’re now discredited in everyone’s mind as some conspiracy theory nut. Funny how this works.

I have a University Degree in Marketing and Public relations
and understand how this evil works. Quick marketing lesson: You gotyour 4ps Product Price Place Promotion. Promotion is where all the exciting thing happen such as Public
Relations. It is a well know fact and taught strategy for companies to control what people say about their product on public forms. They have entire departments dedicated to infiltrating forms to post positive reviews and to discredit those saying negative things all while posing as everyday customers.

It’s a safe bet to say that most of the people here discrediting

With some many people crying wolf about the RMT problem in this game, you’re either a goon, CCP spy or you have your fat fingers in the pot and therefore are defending it. Tell CCP and the Devswarm federation to fire you cuz your PR is for shit my friend. There are obvious see through attempts to discredit any RMT allegations on this from by fucking CCP and Goon agents like you. Now you can ban us from the official form fro bringing this up. this whole war shows something else : its the totally overpowered power projection of large alliances and forces. jump from regions to regions and one side of the galaxy to the other in a heartbeat with literally thousands of ships…… yeah it takes preparation and all. but the mere fact that it is at all possible .. thats the real joke. even if someone would be bold enough to just try to and do shit in their homeland: they could as easily jump back (clone or cyno) and fight there only to be back at the front the very next day. its just a broken mechanic.
more titans = more bridges = easier power projection = more supremacy.

I wonder how many goons would enjoy being goons if taking to battle and reshipping would mean fleet convoys, taking jumpbridges and normal gates.

that would of course also mean more ways to fight guerilla warfare, killing stragglers, camping bridges and gates… much more possibilities for smaller alliances and corps too. all over sudden, eve would be BIG again.

for a large entity still manageable obstacles, but not as easy. and much more compelling. at least in my mind. but of course, that will never happen. not as we have that many “t33l-ME SUPER PILOT WUAHHHA” pilots and players.

Appereantly Null Sec got nerfed too shit within the last expansions.

      Extreme Nerfing of Ratting Sites.

      Ore Distribution

Sov Mechanics that are a major pain in the ass.

Jump and Titan Bridges are one of the very few things that make null sec a place fighting for.

Hard Fact is that SOV Null Sec is no place for small and medium alliances. It’s the place where the big kids hang out.

You can’t play in a professional football league. Loose and then bitch how everybody else is more professional than you and thats how its supposed to be. There are 3 different levels of space in this game for a reason.

Bitching about Jump and Titan bridges in null is like bitching about concord in high sec.

Why should people bother with Null Sec if they can get better and easier income from FW for example (as an individual) ?

People like you are either butthurt empire dwellers or got owned by one of the bigger alliances.

Learn 2 Diplo and expand. Then you can come play in Null Sec.

Also : You do know that Black Ops have the same Bridgerage as Titans do you ?
And that Titan Bridges do also work in Low Sec ?
It’s not Jump or Titan bridges that ruin the game. Its ignorant butthurt people like you expecting something easy as World of Warcraft but eve is not supposed to be easy.

and with the current mechanics , it just is not. theres NO risk involved to just abandon your home for several weeks, because you can get back in a heartbeat with your full force.

I don’t really want to admit it but Null Sec is going to be boring as shit without Test.
Also. If an Empire expands too far its doomed to fail.
We are controlling the vast majority of all relevant ressources in the game and with that we can control the market as we wish. As 6vdt showed we are capable of fielding well over 2k pilots. There is no outside force that can stop us. So why go any further ? With Fountain we will have more than enough ISK to keep the gears of an epic war machine grinding.

now that test proved that cannot stand against CFC in terms of subcaps, nc. and pl needs to find another more reliable group to face us. I predict how pl and nc. will try to rally russian based alliances into their ranks. Nc. will hand back drone region to solar, pl wil convince init and sort dragon to give back esoteria and paragon to -dd- and -a- in exchange for full support against cfc.

Now don’t you feel silly for posting that? The goons didn’t play fair because they didn’t do something stupid and used long term strategies instead of hail mary plays like 6vdt?
If nothing else, this all proved that PL is becoming largely irrelevant. A giant super fleet is only a threat to a cap fleet. With that becoming very obvious, I would worry about what BL has in store for them next.

Test line members should be furious with their leadership today.

We were told that this was the where we would hold back the CFC advance and turn around the tide of the Fountain war. But in the background the Test leadership were already evaccing their shineys to Delve.

Goons formed up 2 hours early for the timer. As soon as that was seen (And the entire internet knew it because it was being shown live on Mad Ani’s stream.) we should have been pinging like crazy to get everyone in system. Hell we should have been there already in a friendly POS. Oh wait Recon missed that the Goons cleared out all our tower so we couldn’t even have a safe spot to regroup.

In the end no matter how hard Booda tries to spin this as a good fight, it was a good fight because Test members stood up and filled in the blanks where the Test leadership should have been. And it doesnt surprise me how quickly Booda went to speak to everyone to say it wasnt his fault. But it was.

Booda is right in one area, Test leadership needs to be reorganised. And it should start at the very top because in the end the failures of the Fountain campaign are on his hands not test line members.

I can’t believe they think turning up for one fight and still losing gives them some sort of higher morale ground or some BS. The fact is it’s TEST who failed because their numbers were awful and they didn’t fight hard enough with their ’12k members’. There was hundreds of people waiting for fleets that never came and days passed with no fleets for hours and they wonder why people were not logging on? Test fail, and when that member base of tards shrinks they will get gobbled up by a smaller Alliance.

Test didnt fail. Test leadership failed Test. Petty infighting in the middle of a SOV war. FC’s either showing up and doing little or nothing or failing to show up at all. And the one’s that did were nearly driven out of the Alliance into our “Allies” welcoming arms.

We ridiculed Alliances who treated their Pets like dirt while treating our own FC’s in the same way.

No Support from Leadership to FC’s. = No support from FC’s to Line members = loss of Fountain.

It’s no wonder people stopped logging on.

Agreed…There was a lot of people online waiting for direction that never came. Seemed like leadership was almost AFK. I remember several times fleets where stood down because of lack of numbers. Meanwhile there was people in Alliance chat begging to get into a fleet. Seems like all the FCs called it quits too.

It is almost as if TEST was used to the sol purpose of providing content for the goon line members. Looking back on some of the decision made and excuses in regards to co-ordination with allies. I am willing to go as far so to say that some members of leadership where paid off to throw this war.

I never heard a leader flat out say “It wasn’t my fault” Sorry but you are the vision and cultural identity of TEST. They were weak, unorganized, uncoordinated, blamed everyone else for their failures, and it was obvious morale wasn’t there. This is a reflection on you. You made this. Your forces were destroyed by us and all you cando is declare it was no ones fault. We deserved a better war. TEST deserves real leadership. Purge them all TEST members…they will continue to fail you.

I don’t think any goons hold resentment towards the regular TEST members. In war we do think of you guys as the enemy and we treat you like one. That being said, everyone views their own through a lens that is not quite reality.

I think TEST was ready to be a dominant force in eve but the wrong people lead TEST down the wrong path at the wrong times. There really didn’t even have to be a war. Looking back I hope TEST sees that its biggest weakness by far was leadership and still is. If TEST survives I hope they clean house and start scrutinizing their leadership candidates more. If they don’t survive, thats too bad, they could of been 10x better under competent leadership.

        What a waste.

There’s no revolutions in EvE, kind sir. But there’s always changing the corp/alliance. Sadly most ppl are scared of such moves, that’s why there’s so many jerks in corp/alliance leaderships in this game. And being in null makes this being more shitty because stats and SOV(even considering someone will try a revolution). The majority is anyway formed by bears, so they would shit pants even if they think someone could endanger their blueness to stations holder or sov holder.

What would you have done different? One alliance against an entire coalition is going to have a bad war. Your only hope was that some of your allies would come to pitch in but that was not to be.

tbh..i know i wrote about RMt too, but this constant blame and accusation regarding RMT is rather stupid and just that: hollow accusation thrown out.
If they do it… not good. if they do it with CCP knowing, worst possible scenario. but just because they dominate the metagame, everyone else is too craven to face them and cannot find enough common ground to do something about them does not necessarily mean they abuse the game for RMT. although one might wonder : what do they do with all the large amounts of billions the goons surely made and will make.
also, i also find it strangely bizarre that they never seem to be taken unprepared by any kind of change in the game.
another conspiracy theme: how comes that the second biggest entitiy (or even bigger, according to pilot numbers alone) happens to sit on such a large concentration of valuable after the odyssey changes, even though CCP stated, that the resources will he spread out randomly ??
also, that one large and powerful entity has so much grip and impact on the overall direction this game goes (whether directly or indirectly because representatives are on their payroll) is somewhat alarming.

Its not hard to work out what the goons did with the zillions earned from tech moons. They built a giant supercap and cap fleet, made spaceships free for tens of thousands of members, stationed and maintained a few regions, and then launched an all out war with it (including possibly spending hundreds of bilions on keeping BL sweet).

No mystery here. Heck, CFC even publishes their financial audits for inspection.

I really think that Test, NC., and Nulli have an awesome chance of holding Fountain!
We all hear a lot of chest beating by the Goons, but we all know that Goons can’t field near as many guys as Test, and the super awesome FCs of NC. and Nulli will beat them in every battle because in Tribute NC. fought outnumbered 20 to 1 and still managed to win every single battle.
    Remember?…anybody?…is this thing on?
Anyway, adding to all this, the fact that PL is going to drop every titan into a system with 5% tidi is just going to further wreck the forces of Goonswarm and make them rue the day they decided to attack Test!
Because Titans in 5% tidi can lock frigates in like 2 seconds right?…no?…ok.

And NC. and Nulli and PL and Retirement Club, and Pangu and Tribal Band and Pizza…they are also each just one lone alliance against the entire CFC!

Sadly, you’re just another in a long line of Goon bitches. One day maybe some real alliance will come along that puts it’s ego aside, jettisons the usual EVE l337speak nullsec crap, and ends the Goons for good. Not just temporarily, but shatter their back and morale forever. Until that happens, best effort doesn’t count for squat. Enjoy the retreat and subsequent hiding.
