The first of the Odyssey builds is now on the test server. I logged in today and checked it out. I made a 16 minute HD video for all of you showing what the new d-scan is like, how scanning with probes is different and ending with several gate jumps because they are cool!

I hope you got some good info from it. There will be more later.

"Out of our 100 man fleet… 35 were lost to enemy action, 15 returned home safely and the other 50 are still in space, presumably mesmerized as they bounce back and forth between star gates…."

    Regarding the video..

That system sweep thing is system scan not dscan, and your Helios has a cloak.

Thanks for putting it together regardless.

16 minutes to show a couple of modules are renamed, what a system scan looks like, how people new to probing fumble around with it, and what jumping through a gate looks like. appreciate the effort and all, but good lord man, the info there could have been stated just as clearly in 3-4 minutes or less.

the biggest thing there was the new "default" probe launch numbers and patterns, would have been nice to show how it works, if possible. is there a settings menu that allows you to pick how many probes go out? set a default initial range? etc.

Honestly. If you find the video so reproachable, create some of your own.

Just because he was critical of the video doesn't mean he was wrong – his points were valid and I too thought it dragged unnecessarily. His comments weren't exactly flaming either, which is less than can be said about your own…

The generic "if you don't like it make your own" kind of reply is retarded. Giving criticism is how people learn to become better. He pointed out what he felt was bad, so that the creator would know better for the next time he makes a video.

To be honest – on test server cloak is…um. So thanks to the creator for putting it up. Saves me the time to actually get sisi up to date :)

It's weird that it didn't save your scan of the sig. Normally if you get something to 100%, as long as you don't have a session change (jump, dock, etc.) it'll keep a fully scanned sig fully scanned.

Yeah, this is indeed a difference in the underlying mechanics. I was in fact hoping that the system would always save the highest % result no matter if you moved your probes, this fits together with making the system more usable, more reasonable (of course your highly advanced ship would save results), and fit more with the idea of "filling up" the signal strength bar.

    Hi CCP,

Can you actually do a proper HD video next time?

Even at 720p it was pretty pixelated.

Pretty much all CCP videos are made in 1080p. This is however not a CCP video
