Supercapital kills are becoming more and more mainstream as the overall skillpoint pool and wealth of EvE Online increases over the years. It’s not out of the ordinary to see a nyx kill on the killboards as of recently. This particular Nyx kill is interesting tho.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the new N3 coalition and the HBC. A lot of people see N3 as a “pet” or “blue” to the HBC. Standings reports and such have shown the exact opposite. This kill also goes against the alleged blue status of the two Coalitions.

Out of Sight has had blue standings with the HBC for quite some time. There is no word whether or not this alliance is a part of the HBC or not but it appears they are “blue” with Test and friends. There is also unconfirmed rumors that the HBC will protect any Sov that OOC obtains.

This is where the possible “Catalyst” comes into play.

N3 has stated they are interested in Tenerefis. Alliances such as Mildly Intoxicated, The Kadeshi, Nexus and Echoes of Nowhere have already obtained some sov in Tenerefis.

So, the stage is set. OOS is gobbling up Sov in Tenerefis, a region N3 has shown Interest in. If the rumor mill runs true, then HBC will protect OOS Sov, sparking battles between N3 and the HBC.

Nothing is set in stone as of yet, but the wheels appear to be shedding the rust and grinding into movement.

Let’s see how this plays out.

** I’m more of a political analyst type person. The politics of EvE interest me so that’s typically what I will write about. For those of you who enjoy reading about the fights themselves, here is what happened:

A bait dread was sent in to pound on the TCU I believe. Minimal support was sent in with the dread. This is the point OOS jumped in with a few Battleships and the Nyx. Once OOS loaded grid, a cyno was dropped and the rest of the N3 subcap fleet bridged in. The resulting battle was very one sided:

  1. EVE is real

"There has been a lot of discussion regarding the new N3 coalition and the HBC. A lot of people see N3 as a “pet” or “blue” to the HBC."

Well that's because it is true and you can even listen to the recording to hear "friendly to HBC." This unrelated Nyx kill doesn't outright claim they are totally unaligned to HBC.

When it comes to any major SOV fight, they will use HBC's help, especially if there's supers involved. Anything to take the easy way to get space. Don't delude yourselves into thinking Nulli and its coalition (and NCdot) ever had balls to fight HBC. If they manage to help "kill -A-" while -A- is already busy with the 2nd largest (and arguably better than CFC) coalition in the game, do you actually think they will ever go to war with HBC or CFC when things settle down? One of the few alliances in EVE that is loyal to themselves and refuses to align with the napfests, and Nulli decides to invade them XD

Right now EVE consists of a couple of coalitions with zero testicular fortitude, people who want be fairweather allies, and the blue doughnut is not going to change. The spina bifida coalition will just keep it going.

And this comment reflects the political ineptitude generally shown from -A-. This is why -A- is currently losing their Sov and running to Stain. This is why -A- is perma camped in stations.

Eve is more than just shoot lasers pew pew F1 kill things. There is a political agenda that alliances and coalitions need to be familiar with to progress in EvE. The HBC is not blue to N3.

I'm seeing -10 on the HBC alliances.

What "may" be happening here is a united front against Solar and Friends. Both HBC and N3 have a grudge against -A-. And as much as -A- may want to pawn that blame onto others or the game itself, ultimately, it is they who caused it. In other words, The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

That is what I see anyways. I could be blind. x_x

I am unaware of any "NIP" between the HBC and N3. From the Alliance Meetings, I clearly heard that the two entities were "friendly" but from everything else I have seen, this proves more of a personal relationship between pilots and does not include the Coalitions as a whole.

The threads holding my position together go out in multiple directions. Unlike a lot of people, I can admit mistakes and I can also correct them. I am open to criticism and I am open to any and all intel you may have. I will clearly state when I do not have proof of something and will update any posting when proof is given.

In this particular case, I know of no "NIP". There is a rumor that HBC will protect OOS Sov. OOS is gobbling up SOV in Tenerefis where N3 has set their sights. If N3 goes to take the Sov OOS has gobbled up, will this cause issues between the two coalitions? That is the question and I believe only time will tell us the outcome.

If a NIP is solidified between the two coalitions, it will be interesting to see what happens with Tenerefis and what type of agreement the two can agree to.

In the nulli alliance meeting it was stated that there wouldn't be any sov warfare with the HBC anytime soon and that they were friendly. HBC has also dropped in to help against Solar/A- on a few occasions. Plus PL and Ncdot are still blue as far as I know.

The other thing is that it's totally beneficial for the HBC if Solar and A- lose what's left of their space. Even better is that the HBC can now grind out the rest of Catch and the South with very little opposition.

What they said at the meeting was that N3 and HBC relations are friendly *at the leadership level*. There's nothing formal beyond that. Nulli guys talk to TEST guys on a fairly regular basis and have reasonably open channels of communication – a holdover from the border-skirmish days of S2N in Delve.

      2. -A- FC

Noone likes -A- because we PVP enjoy doing it none stop with gunship diplomacy thrown in. This old school mentality lost in EVE today

I would agree we are our 'own worst enemies' as shadoo suggested. To do anything else would be be counter to our whole culture.

We defend and fight to the bitter end but the allies we defended chose not to and we respect that choice to survive by bailing and coming back and grinding space as HBC pets 'but still -10 to them honest'. We understand this defines you as allies, we respect that.

This makes it more interesting in terms of the range of coalitions we can farm. We also know PL also pull all the strings with NC. its like some kinda sick puppy love relationship which is completely one sided, we find it very amusing.

If -A- was to stop fighting and fall in with a coalition for some 'win' and sov we would cease to exist. This is what our pilots believe in and this keeps us fighting Against All Odds and Against All Authorities not Fail For Sov. In turn this makes other entities confused, scared and fearful of us and hence hate us, we understand and for this we pity them (the fool XD).

For PL this whole thing is personal nerd hate rage for something -A- did, that to us was forgotten and nothing more then a bit of friendly PVP. PL love/hate us, like some truly bizzare nerdy stalker hate but they know they cannot fight us alone, they tried a number of times before and died in a fire. Well done on the whole get sov by bluing everyone and blobbing up, you really lowered yourselves to being proven goonie pets for all time just for us and some of the worst sov in EVE, makes us feel all fuzzy inside.

The mentality of -A- is not wrong. The "Fights" and the "Wars" is what EvE is about. But even -A- can admit that EvE has changed. It is not Alliance vs an Alliance anymore. Coalition vs Coalition is where it now stands.

The thought that -A- would die if they joined a Coalition is juvenile at best. It's attempting to grasp onto an old and dated logic. As admirable as you may want to believe, you are doing nothing but hurting yourself. That is, of course, if you believe yourself to be one of the Nullsec power players.

In an aquarium full of sharks, you have prevented yourself from ever engorging yourself to best the beasts.

I truely feel as tho -A- pilots, fc's and even leadership want to be an aggressive entity in this aquarium we call new eden. But until they are able to toss away their archaic way of thinking and band together with like-minded alliances, they will simply be just another goldfish in the endless sea of behemoths.

Sorry to break it to you massive coalitions for a win have always existed, hell we have been in them in our past many years ago. Eve hasn't changed much.

So EVE shouldn't have strong independent alliances that PVP? Really? Wow that sounds like a terrible game? So we all need to be in one or maybe two big coalitions with blues for 100 jumps until the boss says kill these ex-blues they are reset for no reason, to go to 0.0 you have to be in a coalition or be blobbed? Wow.. that is something I would fight against, oh look I am!

We fought a long bitter impossible battle against DRF with our allies new and old and thrived. We will do the same against lesser odds and win.

We don't want to be part of a coalition blob full of pets. We want strong independent allies that are loyal, such as the ones we have now. Yea we trusted some allies in the hope we could stave off the long expected boredom/tech fueled invasion from the north and hell they ended up wanting to be goon pets. Is this enough for -A- and its allies to throw in the towel? No this makes us more eager to fight for our freedom.

Ask yourself why we are universally hated by the self proclaimed 'new eve order' which wants to control all things and bend all alliances to its will?

Is it because we are mean and kill ships? Erm this isn't high sec you know? Please jump into goonie pet space without joining them. see how bad they are at camping gates and stations (lol they are pretty bad).

Hate smells like fear to me, fear and blood in the water and we are just one of many sharks looking for a big fat whale to snack on.

Well it will be a rude awakening dude. The "old days" of hiding it out somehwere and retaking your now lost sov is a daydream. You will not have the strenght or the financial base to run an offensive sov war against any of the major coaltions in the game. You can choose to believe what these propagandistic replies claim ie goons are always bad, cfc are so bad they don´r know how top do this and that etc. They just threw you out of your regions of sov and can deploy in a few hours in full strenght. So you are back in hex one only with the difference this time cfc sits on all the jumbridges and you have to claw yourself into a staging system. You simply don´t have what it takes to do that anymore. Times are changing you know.

This is where your newly invented hatred of -A- is coming from, you were told by goons and test you have to hate them and you obey, just like a good dog should do.

Probably there is also some envy in it too, you whored out to goons and test that treated you like shit as they took your shit. Are we still going for the "HBC is not the same as CFC"? I mean as long as the major power holders in those 2 coalitions are blue to each other and are ready to help each other (if one of them is really, REALLY, threatened) they are the same thing fighting at different fronts for better efficiency.

Other than that I agree. Whether we like it or not goons have great infastructure and they are far more organised than most of the alliances/coalitions currently in EvE and that is one of the main reasons they have survived so long even though they are hated by most of EvE population.

so you have like 4 fleets in system each not blue to each other and your fc tells you look there are 400 enemys in this system!
oh cyno went up, look they have just jumped in not blue capitals, must be the enemy fleet but they dont fight us!
and here look at this tower, those 50 tengus that are the 400 enemys who are too scared to come out!

local was around 100 befor enemys came in (75 -a- fleet and some random dudes who allready were in system).
then there jumped a hostile bomber fleet in.
and at one point there were multiple hostile fleets reported at different gates. they jumped in, local went from ~150 to 600.
after 10 minutes a cyno went up and local spiked from 600 to 650.

of course there were solar and bl fleets ready to jump in, but not vs a coalition of half eve with 600 guys in fleets

you can't fit a heavy energy neutralizer on a talos even if you do sacrifice a high slot. If you do choose to put on one medium neut you will only have ~80 more dps than a tempest and nowhere near the neuting power.

          November 11, 2012 at 8:46 pm Reply
          1. Mkay, well trying to think outside the box here why not take dedicated neuting ships like Pilgrims, Curses, Ashimmus and Bhaalgorns? There's already dedicated fleet with support ships such as Rapiers, Lachesis etc so why not dedicated a neuting wing which is there solely to deal with those pesky supers? Leave the dps to the Talos and let the neuts do their thing.

This might not be ideal for a Tempest fleet as they have the spare utility slots to fit neuts, but for ships like the Talos which need to pack maximum pew, why not? If anybody says "instant primary" you already have that problem with support ships(logi, recon etc).

            November 12, 2012 at 2:09 am
          2. anonymous

Maybe, but the thing is with tempests you get 2 heavy neuts + 800+dps. If you put people in things like like ashimus and curses you will be losing a significant amount of dps that I don't think talos's can make up for. You will need a lot of curses to make up for for the loss of the dual heavy neutralizes each tempest has. It's an interesting idea I just don't think it will be as effective.

Yes, this is a single Nyx kill that I pointed out is not out of the ordinary. I was not saying that N3 is amazing for killing a super cap. I was drawing attention more towards the political fallout this could cause.

OOS is friendly with Test. Rumors have it that Test will protect OOS Sov. OOS is gobbling up Sov in Tenerefis. Tenerefis is a region N3 is interested in.

Honestly this is unlikely to really happen very soon. PL. and NC. are still blue to each other, regardless of coalition status. I think it is safe to say that both of these respective alliances have the highest number of supercaps in their coalition. So that whole chunk can only attack side alliances of the opposing coalition. So if N3 dropped super caps on HBC, PL. might not be able to do a whole lot. At the very least, it could be awkward.

I´m part of N3 and, IMHO no one knows, for sure, if we are friends (not pets) to HBC or not. We have an alliance with some common points, like being PvP oriented, being a lot frustred with russian diplos and, that the most complicated point, most of us, but not ALL of us, hate The Blob, either HBC or CFC. This put us in a very delicated situation. Open war against then will satisfy a great deal of us (me included) but it´s pretty obvious that nobody, specially us, has the power to fight then, specially when this alliance is still being settled. In the other hand, blue then will make half of us so distressed, that the alliance wouldn´t survive another month, probably.

For now, our common despice to russians has been satified with ops to take SOV out of -A- and to fight, ocasionally, Solar. After SOV is settled, logistic routes are estabilished, i really don´t know what gonna happen. Just to point the case, half of the chat in our intel channels are questions ´bout if some specific pilot/gang is blue or not to another specific group.

My corp in enjoying a lot the new home, good people, respect among the various corps. As my CEO said, now he can sort thing out in minutes, while under -A-/ROL he needed days for ANYTHING, even the smallest change.

    Good hunt.

      We're not friends/pets of HBC.

Were on the same side of the SOLAR war as them, but so are Gypsy and are Gypsy HBC pets? You bet your ass they aren't.

You slander Gypsy by comparing yourself to them. Compare number of test kill on Gypsy, nulli and NC. killboards. Gypsy are slaughtering them en masse. On other hand Nulli has very few Test kills, in fact nulli has more fratricides of their own ship then kills of Test ships. NC. is by far worst, days pas without a single test kill.

If I would be guessing by states of killboards alone NC. is certainly Test pet, Nulli is likely Test pet. Of curse such guessing is besides the point as ProGod already expressed his eternal love for Montolio, and Vince his admiration for Goons so that makes it clear where they really stand on.

who is -A- FC? your silly blind attitude is why people don't like -A-. I'm a neutral to all the null sec alliances, all having their positives and negatives but i have never found a positive about -A-. I really struggle to gather how the hell you guys have not disbanded yet, its like you really dont see how bad you are but luckily there are enough people not seeing that you all formed up together.

Because we exist to fight against those that would impose their will. We fight to exist and exist to fight. Without us who would stand against a giant circle jerk around 0.0?

If you find this negative or wrong, sorry I can't help you. Many others look at this as a massive positive and a reason to still play EVE. It doesn't matter how many are against us or how much hate is used against us and our allies, many pilots flock to us for what we stand for and what we fight against and many allies stick with us because they know what we stand for.

      What do you stand for?

If you really thought that you should have convinced Solar to fight with us against CFC instead of with them. Instead you supported Solar the entire way through even when Gypsy Band/friends started a new front in the South so that we in the north could get a slight break from the 2 front warfare.

Unless, of course, the will being imposed is that of -A-. One *does not* talk back to -A- after all, amirite?

In seriousness, all this posturing about being the ultimate pvp entity is cute, but your actions over the last few months have fallen well short of your words.

I do wish -A- is able to recover and pounce back from the backwater netherlands it is cowering in, cause goodness knows it's going to be quite boring otherwise with just 2 1/2 blocs all around. But seriously.. enough with the malnourished chest beating =P

The chestbeating is not without precedent, this is literally the 3rd time a coalition/coalitions have pushed -A- out of its sov. -A- has always come back. Don't see how these new coalitions are so uber and super best friends that there won't be an opening in the future.

The funny thing is lots of the grunts in these coalitions seem to think that cascading after losing space and bandwagoning with the new kid on the block is somehow more win than toughing it out in NPC space like true space vikings.

One "does not talk back to -A-" if you try and scalp a blue market and troll an alliance FC in coms rather then send a mail to the corp who forgot to set 0 for repairs (Try it with minty rolo /shadoo/ mittens / Vince or whoever it is you report to and see how well it turns out).

One "does not talk back to -A-" if you bail out rather then stand and fight.

One "does not talk back to -A-" if you bring 4:1 on a fight with more on a titan and PL supers on batphone.

One "does not talk back to -A-" if you bring 3:1 to fight and run away screaming -a- undocked and blobbed us.

You can talk to -A- when you approach us as equals and as keen EVE pilots who like PVP, in the same way you respect us we would respect and treat you.

When you are above us in real kills then you may have something to crow about. Try to keep it up for as long as we have and still do, you will fail. Most of all try to survive, you will need all the help you can blue and all the hate you can make up.

From where I stand, in our new staging system. The outlook is pretty good. I have had more fun in the last 4 months fighting PL/TEST/CONDI/NC./INIT/Raiden ect. Sure we have had some shitty days too but they are far outweighed by the good. In every direction for miles and miles I see targets. A sea of lambs ready to be lead to the slaughter.
I have played this game for many years. Seen the rise an fall of The NC, BOB and GBC in three different forms, the powerhouse that was the DRF and many more. I have even seen the implosion of goons. Not to praise them too much bu they indeed rose from the ashes stronger than before.

Be under no illusions. This is a cycle. And history will repeat its self. There are very, very few entities in their true and foremost form that have survived enough to bare witness, let alone influence all of the above events. -A- is one of these.

I look forward to many years and green kb months with -A-

Hrmm. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I did not infer that N3 was at all related to HBC. I did, however, state what popular public opinion was and then threw in counter arguments against that including the standings and the attack on the OOS Nyx.

I also brought into question whether OOS taking Sov in Tenerefis would be the Catalyst to start a war between N3 and HBC.

I do apologize if anything I have posted is "wrong" and if I need to fix something, by all means, please tell me what needs to be fixed.

They arnt blue with the HBC, however we dont consider them outright hostiles. They are neutral, we fight their roaming gangs often, we will happily kill them.
However if they are fighting -A-, or Solar, the HBC will gladly give them a helping hand.
They arnt blue with us. Only the enemy of my enemy type shit is going on.

i think the point being missed do HBC protect OOC sov or have a N3 coalition with one of the finest PVP alliances at its core in NC. this is a bit of a no brainer with N3 working with HBC and solar and its pets setting blue standings with AAA solar space and all its pets space is now on a sticky wicket with N3 and HBC working together if they wanted to they could clear them out of drone space all it will take is the collective will to do so and haveing fought against and fought with NC. in my time in eve trust me NC. alone has more will in them than any super alliance with NC. FC commanding those fleets solar AAA their pets may as well as evac now and save as much of their assets before ther routes to lowsec get cut off.

We didn't alienate allies they either gave up fighting or joined test on the promise of unicorns and cake.

Alienation is something Test does allot of it smears the shit fin and claims a win. It spouts propaganda about saving people from being pets/renters and killing some great evil alliance.

In the end they kill nothing more then their own pets in their goal to become the worst slumlord in EVE ruling over the worst EVE has to offer and feeding one pet to another. Stupid people listen to this. What they dont realise is this stuff in eve will come back and hunt them. Being a massive blob massively increasing in size and kicking all your pets is basicly the worst thing you can do in EVE if you want to exist long term. Please don't believe me though please become what you set out to hate.

Bbbbbut it was -A- they are the bad guys, we made CFC Test and PL invade space in a massive blob and kick out our allies. LOL -A- also never undocked ever.. No test were killed in massive numbers by -A- during the invasion of the south… never happened.

It's just one Super belonging to a light blue of convenience. I would not read too much into it. Big alliances usually don't blue pets or renters of their allies, in order to be able to roam. If this had been a PL or Test super killed by them it would be another thing. As it is, this is just a regular gank against some low tier pet or whatever.

I wreckon if Solar loose most of thier space, and N3 and co finally get there space sorted near the NCC, a few months down the line they will all decide to turn towards Vale and take on the CFC as we all know pretty much everyone in N3 and NCC hate the CFC equally as much and the whole reason for attacking Solar and pets was because they were getting far too close to the CFC for comfort. I doubt the whole of the HBC will join but I do wreckon PL and possibly Raiden would join in. that would be pretty awesome

So you would literally have N3, NCC and half of HBC all taking on the CFC I wreckon it will happen if all goes to plan in the coming months

Nulli are not pets. It similiar when Nulli lived in delve. Nulli is on somewhat cordiall terms with HBC but not blue. Right now they both have the same target to shoot. When that is settled I'm sure they will go back to shooting each other. HBC and N3 need targests. They will be close to each other. There you go.
