I’m sure half of you would be happy with just a:

TL;DR A big fight happened in Delve, supers and caps died.

Bam.

BATTLE REPORT

BATTLE DOC

The rest of you will probably want to know what exactly happened.

So, one of Test’s newest FCs has been making a splash the last two days, running drake gangs “to see the cool new missile effects” in a balls to the wall, honey badger don’t give a fuck, way.  Nulli has a better fleet comp, no problem, ENGAGE.  Nulli has more numbers, no problem, ENGAGE!  This has apparently endeared him to everyone.  Test, PL, Nulli, Vera Cruz, everyone.  Good fights are good, right?  So, after a highly entertaining fleet action two days ago, when he threw up his fleet advert last night… he was able to form up 20 Drakes, 4 Scimitars, 3 Falcons, and various tackle.  This, his second combat fleet. Nice, happy, drake fleet. It was to be a very memorable fleet.

I have to admit that when I saw the advert, I grumbled something about losing a scimitar the last time, then chose to read instead of Eve, much to my dismay when I found out what happened with the fleet.  As is usual when roaming into Nulli’s space, the fleet rolled into their home system of C3N, made a bunch of noise shooting random things, until intel tells the FC that Nulli is forming up to fight.  Except, this time, Nulli was getting numbers.

After a few minutes in system, Shadoo, and his keen sense for an impending fight, suddenly popped up with his usual “hi guys, how are you doing?” following by letting the Test gang know that Nulli was, in fact, forming up.  But the kicker was that Nulli’s aHAC fleet already had over 120 in it.  Needless to say, this scared the shit out of the FC with his fleet of a little over 40, and he began bouncing the fleet between safe perches.

They began coordinating with PL while Nulli continued to form up.  When Nulli began their mass undock, Shadoo suggested that the Test fleet burn towards the staging area, so they could get into titan bridge range.  PL’s subcaps would be hard pressed to reach the Test fleet without spooking off Nulli’s fleet.  As the slow to warp aHACs lumbered to warp, the Drake fleet began trying to put distance on them in a headlong dash for reinforcement range.  Progod, either intuitively knowing what was happening or simply having had success with his PLEX for Spies program, began racing ahead to drop a cyno on the Test gang so they could bridge onto them sooner than later.  He caught up with the Test fleet in his Arazu in QY1E-N.  A Test hero lemming got a lock before he could cloak, however.  For some inexplicable reason, he didn’t light the cyno.  Perhaps he didn’t realize how much faster missiles reach their target since the expansion?  Perhaps he didn’t expect Test to catch him and wasn’t paying attention? Perhaps he took the time to flip back to the titan account to see if everyone was in range before lighting?  Perhaps the titan was out of fuel?  We may never know.

He Died.

This bought the Test gang a little time and space.  No longer able to bridge on top of the Test fleet, Nulli bridged to NOL-M9 to cut them off from just simply returning to the staging system.  PL sent a cyno into NOL before Test could get there, telling the Test gang that was going to be the location of the fight.  Burn there or be square.  Moments later, after Test jumped into NOL, Shadoo came onto Test comms again, ever his calm self, and simply said:

Planet 5 Moon 3.  We are engaged.  Caps on the field.

Holy shit.  That escalated fast.  Test immediately warped to the moon.  They come out of warp in the middle of a battle between a dozen PL titans and a large subcap fleet.  As they arrive, Nulli dreads jumped in at 300km from the field.  The Test drakes went to work on the dictors and HICs holding down PL’s titans.  Neither Test nor PL had carriers or super carriers on standby to support the titans so the fight quickly swung in favor of Nulli/BL when Black Legion super carriers began jumping in.  Right in the middle of the PL titans.  The fight got hot very quickly.  Pings began going out for Test/PL carriers and super carriers to get on.  One of the PL titans had bounced during the jump in and was rapidly flying, uncontrolled, away from the pack.  An Erebus.  Nulli primaried the Erebus, assuming any moment, PL and Test carriers would be jumping on the field to support the titans.  I mean, who would jump in titans without support on standby, right?

NOW NOW NOW

Things were getting a bit frantic.  The Erebus is a fairly robust tank, but in the face of 26 super carriers and eight dreads, it cannot hold out for long.  The pilot was told to overheat, support was on the way.  Meanwhile, the PL titans began doomsdaying the dreads.  Any reduction in dps coming at the titan would be that much more time that support could get in to save him.  A cyno went up.  PL and Test super carriers and carriers began streaming onto the field.  By then, it was too late.

The Erebus died.

Nulli and Black Legion, knowing the table had just been flipped on them, GTFO.  The dreads that remained were screwed, stuck in siege.  Fodder for the PL/Test super pilots.  A Nulli super carrier and a Black Legion super carrier had been tackled and also went down quickly in the face of the blistering fire of the PL/Test super capitals.

Nulli’s Hel

Black Legion’s Aeon

Everyone involved left the field exuberantly.  It isn’t every day you get a super cap fight.  In fact, it has been a long time since two super cap fleets have gone toe to toe.  Shadoo congratulated Nulli/BL with the following statement, lifted from kugu:

All and all — an EXCELLENT fight and a REALLY well executed drop by Black Legion / NULLI. Congrats and hope we can repeat the favour soon enough :3.

The Test FC who started the whole thing, it is easy to imagine, was so giddy while writing this that he may not have been able to sit:

It was, by-far my favorite battle in Eve Online and I will always remember the experience.

Little Did We Know…Little Did We Know a Perma-MWD Drake Fleet Roam would turn into an all out Capital brawl.

I would like to say thank you to my amazing Drake Fleet that re-shipped multiple times and kept fighting to the end.

Congrats to everyone who was involved.  To the Test FC, I’m really bummed that I didn’t join your fleet right now.  Nice work! Banner goes to Nulli for their suicide dreads taking out a PL titan. Props to them.

The only reason it was even close to "even" was due to complacency and the element of suprise.

I very much doubt PL will fall for the same trap twice.

I was referring more to the style of play commonly seen from the CFC ground (600 guys running around)

Seems like this 250 v 250 would have been a great fleet to have some fun in.

the type of fight EVE is all about.

the fact of the matter is, super fights are rare enough that no one can really claim to be experts at them, not nulli, not BL, not even really PL. When they happen, it's a whole different kind of chaos, and the outcomes are never really certain.

well played nulli/BL. WP to PL and test too, for the lightning fast response time and getting support onto the field as fast enough to kill 2 supers and about 20 capitals for what looks like an even-ish :iskwar:.

No. You are going by the nulli killboard which has none of the BL deaths. EvE kill is far more accurate at this point with 51% in favor of PL + TEST.

Actually a bunch of the killboards are reporting different numbers but most are reporting between 50 and 58 for either side. The nulli one is still extremely off.

You can't use an alliance killboard for accurate stats, use a neutral one like eve-kill.net and you see Nulli/BL narrowly lost the ISK war to PL/TEST.

Just a clarification, the first PL cyno was killed ( http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=134… ) literally just as he lit the first cyno. long enough for a secondary to jump in and another was lit. Nulli dreads were already on field when the titans jumped in. Seconds after, the BL/Nulli/Vera/HUN supers came in and commenced to primary an avatar that seemed a bit to far away. PL/TEST did a good job of clearing the tackle off of him, then the Erebus was primaried. But then, all the NULLI dreads had been DD'd (bait dreads, best dreads). Rest of the fight went pretty much as it was written. All I have to say is, as the lone surviving guardian of the Nulli fleet, SUCK MY DOUBLE ECCM PL. lol

If you read it again, you will see that dreads were doomsdayed almost immediately. There were two, if I recall correctly, that survived the doomsdays and were finished off later.

    So, how was server performance?

It's amazing that so many supercaps can be engaged and so few actually die, I just can't fathom how that works. Is it just the difficulty of maintaining tackle? I noticed that something like 60 interdictors and heavy interdictors died.

Also, that is a heck of a lot of dead carriers.

server was actually awesome, very little to no TiDi and only client side lag (from all the drones). Supers are still hard to kill, but they have a harder time killing things that are smaller than them, hence all the carrier kills. Fighter-Bombers still rape caps.

In all fairness, I have most effects and models turned off for CTAs and large fleets. it helps with client side lag. Also, missile effects have no load on the servers, as the graphics are rendered client side.

Well Nulli had a AHAC fleet which is really good at getting rid of tackle like dictors. Once PL's side actually had numbers they were just trying to get out which they accomplished since they killed the tackle.

I was on field myself in a nyx and I couldn't perceive any lag. Also no tidi.

The lack of tidi honestly saved a ton of nulli and BL supers. If it went down to super tidi it would've been much easier to reship dics/hics.

About 30 PL / Test dictors died in ex-change for almost 20 nulli & BL ones… even numbers of HICs killed… about same for T3 ships and other T2 recon support killed on both sides… And several capitals died on BOTH sides… FAST… at least 5 carriers on PL side and about 20ish on nulli / BL side…

So at the end it all came down to an ex-change of 1 PL titan vs 2 nulli / BL supers + 15ish dreads / carriers… good deal if u ask a nulli / BL pilot… and a 2nd PL titan almost died too… down to less than 30% armor

Pretty sure we killed all the dreads b4 the hostile supers came in, atleast I couldnt see them on overview when I hit DD on my dread:P No way in hell we would have priortised DD on papir thin in siege blap dreads if hostile carriers/supers was on field.

hel got DD to death when the 10min timer after the dread DD`s was over. Aeon got caught outside a pos shield. bit later. Several black legion supers was in distress(a wyvern was in armor, elo knight was in half armor with DD comming ect) aswell as the PL avatar running with 30% armor. gfs insteed.

Aeon wasn't caught out of POS shields.. It landed in the safe with others late and we got probed out before he was fully aligned. A hic landed and our scout called hostile supers and tackle entering warp so Elo made a judgement call to bail and told the aeon pilot to nuet the hic and try to warp. He was DDed to death before we even landed in the new safe and jumped out..

Also we don't have wyverns or hels =P just aeons with elo's nyx as a meat shield xD

Also, Wyvern never reached armor. Warped just as the DD's went off on it.

      Quite the opposite really.

More supers lost means more needed, thus more made.

The actual total number in-game hinges around the players/organizations that are trained into and can afford to buy and replace them.

      Basic Supply vs Demand

Now instead of crying over supers being ingame why don't you unwrinkled your panties and train into a dicto/hictor and get on some killmails. You'll feel much better.

This fight was epic. So much fun. This is the reason I play in null-sec, and the reason Honeybadger went to delve.
Progod and Elise were both inches from death a few times. The field was full of super-caps. Subcaps on both sides did a great job of clearing bubblers and sub-cap support ships. Also, we looted the field relentlessly in true TEST style. Thanks to Nulli and BL for the great fight.

Such an epic battle and tons of fun. Props to everyone who isn't being a faggot or crying about their dicks and just taking the battle for what it was — EPIC.

PS – To the TEST loot whoring anathema we killed, I'm sorry :(

A few minor corrections, we actually didnt intend to bridge on the test fleet, progod just failed to pay attention to his arazu and died. We were actually waiting on a cyno into NOL- and a midpoint for our dreads to get into place. The hel was actually DD"d off field instanteously(it was hilarious). The aeon wasnt tackled on field, it was caught unaligned at BL's safespot warpout. Otherwise the accounting is fairly accurate.

Not as bad as pretty much any CFC alliance, everyday nulli beat up on test, and PL makes them look better, and better, well you have the rest of the CFC holding hands singing kumbaya well blobing who? NCdot, and BL? IRC?, and we're actually gonna imply nulli is bad?

Those who call nulli shit, are really a bunch of butt hurt pricks.

I am in test and at least I can appreciate a good alliance when I see it. They are consistant good performers and have been improve month by month, where other alliance usually fall apart. Always active and can pretty much take on anyone alliance v alliance and win, ofc not in an all out subcap titan fight, since they don't have as many as say PL or a few others.

props to everyone who took part and go suck a dick to those looser who are plain haters.

too bad the current tech issue is prohibiting fights from more cap battles. no one in his mind is going to drop caps on otech moons. the more scarce cap battles are to blaim to this. its allot lesser fun for people who enjoyed them in the old days. for pl its just 12 days of tech milking to get the isk back thats been lost, for the other allainces its another story….

This is a rare thing, but prop's to PL and TEST for NOT being faggots and showing a little bit of respect towards Nulli. Let's face it, PL are masters at Eve. Sure, they have been sucking the muck at the bottom of the pond lately, but Shadoo lit a fire under their asses and they seem to be back on track! TEST are, well, TEST. A mix of noobs and vets alike, with tons of space jews, but they sure try and that's what makes them fun! They don't give a shit, have fun, make funny meme's in local.

Nulli, you guys rock! No matter the situation, you just keep pounding away, not looking back, not even bitching about it. You haven't even called in any fav's to -A-, which is amazing. I know for a fact that there are many in -A- that want to deploy to Delve for the lol's. It would be interesting.

In closing, thanks to all for the good fights and not being vacuum pricks about the battle.
