    Not that simple.

    Datacore that cost 150 RP now will cost 100 after the patch, so if you wait you get 50% more.

    Also if you have datacore that Amarr give out, hold onto them because they will go up because they have lost a lot of sov, which means their datacores will cost more to buy.

      You are an idiot. The current prices included a multiplier to the RP gained depending on what you were researching. As such, every datacore in game at the moment has an actual cost of 50RP and nothing else. After change, all DCs will be 100RP and some isk. The RP cost of all datacores will double. Thus the amount of datacores available from R&D agents will halve. More datacores will be available from FW LP stores at a minimum isk cost of 200k isk, and 200LP. They are bought in packages of 5 for 1M isk and 1000LP.

    speculateing = bad…

    datacores get cheaper then more people would do t2 production cause profits are even higher…

      The tecnitium bottleneck puts a real hard ceiling on the amount of tech 2 production that can happen, and (at least up till now) it's made datacores a fairly small part of the cost of tech 2 stuff. So datacore prices can potentially move a lot.

    I think there is a bad link here. The image link is broken and this whole post makes no sense at all.

    Did I misread the dev comments? I thought I read that the agent RP amount cost per datacore was going UP.

    Research agents and datacore changes

    "… we are removing all field multipliers on research fields, while unifying RP amount to claim one datacore to 100.

    "While this actually double amount of RPs to claim a datacore, we also are introducing a small 10,000 ISK fee per datacore to ensure there is a small cost tied to their retrieval."

    So: No more multipliers. RP cost is doubled. 10,000 ISK additional cost per datacore.

    I think datacores are going to be the new gold, at least for a while.

    Also dont underestimate the ability of forces ti game the scheme and deliberatly unbalance FW so they get buy and horde LP items, then switch side, starve the market of what they have horded and sell them when prices are extreme.

    I dont think CCP Soundwave has any clue about any of this, hes flying blind.

      Any gaming would be by individuals, as corps and alliances will be hard pressed to make the faction standings requirements to jump all around as they please.

        They could have alts, one that fights for Gallente/Minmatar, the other for Amarr/Caldari, or just work as teams. Im sure Goons could be that organised.

    The potential for long-term market gains from datacore trade is huge. Buy when one faction is winning, cheap, hold, then sell when that faction eventually collapses.
