Sovereignty Skirmish in Scalding Pass

Last night as I logged on to chill a call came out to diplomats all over the coalition that a 100 man gang was creating trouble in Scalding Pass. At first I thought it was a roam to annoy Imperial Legion and The Unthinkables who live there. But as I read the logs and sent a scout into system things got… weird. No enemy fleet to be found but two friendly fleets, an Imperial Legion drake fleet numbering 70 and an Unthinkables/WhySoSerious tier 3 BC fleet attacking an armed POS next to a TCU. A call came out from one of my friends, INIT and RaidenDOT are coming. I was wondering what they were planning until our diplomat gave us the call to “get down there fast as they have hostile carriers incoming”.

Our fleet from Etherium Reach was still 20+ jumps away when eight carriers dropped on the friendly fleets which then warped away. After a minute they warped back in at optimal and started to engage the carriers. I dared to uncloak and lock the carriers and saw that they were breaking the tanks. Two more carriers undocked and jumped into ARG but it wasn’t enough.

Shockingly it looked like Imperial Legion were going to take down the carriers single handed. Then another five carriers from INIT/RadienDOT came in and the tanks started to easily hold. The FC of the Imperial Legion drakes seemed to be ignorant of the 30+ Abaddon gang that landed and bubbled the Imperial Legion fleet shortly afterwards. What we saw then was a very quick “GTFO” command. Both defence fleets left the area suffering only mild losses all things considered. As for our Etherium Reach fleet, we got turned back. Promises were made that when we have more people online we will go and correct this incursion into Scalding pass.

So the facts. INIT, took ARG-3R last night with help from RaidenDOT., Imperial Legion, The Unthinkables and WhySoSerious tried to defend without calling for help from Gypsy Band and Solar fleet. For those who don’t know Imperial Legion are very close to SOLAR who have a soft spot for the not so impressive alliance. The Imperial Legion helped in the recent war more than most, giving up space and fighting 24/7 hopelessly outgunned for SOLAR. They may not be impressive, but they got guts.

Now you may not have heard of Unthinkables. They are like a mini Gypsy Band, damn good at PVP. They don’t have the Imperial Legion numbers, but they got teeth and their years in NPC space has taught them to fight hopelessly outnumbered. What you have here is two alliances used to fighting outnumbered and outgunned. Even if they don’t ask for help from SOLAR and Gypsy Band, who let’s face it will slaughter this little incursion into Scalding Pass. They might be able to do it themselves. After watching the Imperial Legion FC make some weird calls I can see them learning a lot from this, at the cost of many of their beloved drakes.

So The Initiative has taken sovereignty of ARG-3R in Scalding Pass. They did this with help from Raiden and against the wishes of the local residents. Their motives behind this move are however unknown. Is it the start of an invasion of the south? Or just an opportunistic move to cause trouble? If you have any information on this please let us know.

We almost had a Thanatos but raiden dropped 2 more archons to help out then 2 nyxes and a avatar and support. The fc did make some calls I still question but still gf raiden and init. 2 hours before some of our guys set up a tcu and was taken down by init tengus and a nyx still was a fun fight GF raiden and init! BTW we arent friendly with gypsy as stated in a previous renews article and 8 drakes isn't a lot:)

Was a interesting fight to say the least. Included was the IMP.L bombing of a blue fleet and themselves (excellent shit) WHYso. formed up our fleet roughly 30 mins before the engagement and rolled out. Sadly, we lost some newer guys to nub mistakes but all in all… fun stuff.

    Welcome back INIT?

  14. just an observation

They probably would have had a lot more trouble dropping extra carriers and subcaps if their cyno pilot had been outside the POS shields. Not sure if that's an official exploit or not, but it definitely changed the way the fight went.

A helios jumped in our carriers, one of which lit a cyno for raiden. The nyxes and titan came in 10 minutes after you warped off. Get your facts right before posting shit everywhere

Should prove to be interesting until RDN and Init. start dropping supers then you'll know they are limping along. Considering their chosen target, they are already hurting more then they are letting on. If they are in the area for good fights then why start taking systems, considering the two NPC regions bordering Scalding Pass.

WHYso. is in no way shape or form associated with solar. The only renters are IMP.L, and it shows.
That being said, once WHYso realized their was no use in attempting to break those tanks, the fleet just decided to head back. Saying 100 people ran from a fight is garbage we all knew those reps would hold.

while i was in INK, we wiped many chest beating alliances. they usually came in, waved thier e-penis, talked a lot of shit and then ran only to get trapped and die. INK loves it when people call them noobs and are under estimated. those same people are usually sent packing in thier pods. Just because an alliance can't field 250 man fleets doesn't mean they are noobs.

Guys i can confirm Scalding pass is controlled by iNK and IMP and neither are renters. Ink= blue to Gypsy band. IMP= Blue to solar. NEITHER ARE RENTERS…. why the fuck do i bother writing this shit if people don't read it.

    May 11, 2012 at 9:12 pm Reply
    1. Tica'Taca

Yes, at INK we do wonder why you bothered writing it. The verbal blowjob is appreciated but as we don't shit ourselves at the sight of 8 carriers and can manage the basic scouting of such cleverly disguised systems as G-0, we'd rather not have the inference that we had anything to do with this fleet or fight.

Amazing what you can squeeze 6 paragraphs out of.
