Rooks & Kings and AHARM: Old Enemies Clash Again

Since Clarion Call 3, we ganked them quite a few times, but never had the opportunity to get a proper fight against Aperture.

On Wednesday, we opened a WH to a neutral system : J153217, no
effects. Our scout immediately shoot the scan :

“Moros, Archon,
Revelation, Baahlgorn, Guardian, 7x Loki, 3x Legion … Aperture !”.

The key word is given. Everyone is prepared. We have to get a fight.

While our scout landed at their POS, an Archon and their T3 warped out and disapeared. We probed quickly a WH in that direction. An “Exhale” (another great WH corporation) is spotted there and jumped on the other side. We don’t really know what is happening on the other side and decide to not jump and stay cloak. But if Exhale is fleeting with AHARM, the fight can quickly turn into a nightmare for us. Moreover, we don’t know what AHARM is doing here, we don’t know if they can log more capitals and pilots in their staging system.

So, here is the situation :

After few seconds of calm, we order the Phobos to jump in J153217, warp to the WH next to AH, and cloak. Few minutes later, an Orca landed from the AH POS to the WH, and jumped. For sure, they were going to collapse it.

Early in the week, we met AHARM in another neutral system, with a massive fleet waiting on their static. Despite their number, they decided to affect the mass of their WH to avoid any fight. We couldn’t let that happen again.

As expected, their T3 jumped back one by one and warped to the POS. At any time we could have decloaked and bubbled them. But the risk is too high that they refuse the fight again and jump back on the other side.

We decided to wait for the Archon, wait for the WH to be collapsed. We have to force a fight, in space, with no way to escape … a fight to death.

And it works. Once their Archon appear on the grid, we immediately bubble and tackle the few ships on the field. The hunters became the prey. We made warp our fleet, while they warped back their T3, their dreads and their Bhaal on the battlefield.

Their dreads immediately focus our Moros, who was slowly going down. They have twice our DPS, and there is no way to tank their dreads. We had to make it fast.

Despite some jamming drones harassing them, our Bhaalgorns worked well on their Archon capacitor. Due a fit tanking oriented, his capacitor burned very quickly. To put pressure on their Carrier, we started focusing their T3. With nearly no more capacitor, AHARM wrecks started to fill the overview.

But suddenly, their dreads figured out that one of our Bhaal had no speed. A perfect target for their guns. In 4 seconds, one of our Bhaal lost 80% of his armor. A second before the next deadly alpha, the rep arrived and kept him safe.

Our dread is around 50%. We managed to kill few T3 and their Bhaalgorn, but their capitals are still alive and kicking. With no more capacitor, we quickly put down their Archon and switched to their support, while our Bhaalgorns were draining their dreads.

Breaking out the ship scanner

Now alone without rep, and promised to death, some of their T3 managed to escape. The Revelation is put down leaving a single Moros on the Battlefield. Most probably by mistake, he activated the self-destruction of his ship. To avoid him any shame, ww overloaded our guns and succeeded to destroy him in less than 2 minutes.

Small gang, nice ships popped, massive ISK engaged, great fight. This is all about Wormhole space.

Nice fairy tale and cool story. I love the way RnK can turn a well calculated gank into an epic battle to the bone. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't risk free but hell man, you said it yourself that you had a fleet ready to rush in when the call was made, they probably weren't ready and warped in a few at the time.

Keep it up folks but please don't come and say that you are the ones that always need to force a fight out of other entities in w-space know how it really is with RnK's wormhole division. Anyface, thanks for the nice fairy tale and keep it up.

Looks like they had more stuff but less active during the gank. Afk and floating caps in a pos doesn't count. And it seems Aharm warped in stuff a few at the time so the full force you see on BR isn't really the main force for the whole fight, correct me if I'm wrong?
