Beware, a good read follows ahead. Thanks to the Kadeshi for the wonderful Battle Report.

The Kadeshi: This is how EVE is meant to be played.

The operation behind the scenes commenced some weeks ago, as a member of The Kadeshi Alliance ( the one and only True Vikings) managed to infiltrate the Viking empire with assets in place that could potentially be used for Black Ops and Intel.

Intel came to us that the entire Viking Empire constellation was cyno jammed and bubbled which seemed ideal for an opportunity as they started to move assets out. How they must have felt safe knowing that they could rat in peace and how that comfort would be potentially shattered by the actions taking place behind the scenes.

A Black ops drop had already been conducted on a ratting Thanatos with great success some days earlier, in the six minute window the fleet had jumped in, ganked the carrier and jumped back out, no intel or mention had been made on intel channels and the spy’s remained, uncovered and in place. With assets still being moved out by Vikings and with the dry run a success move valuable assets were therefore sought.

Efforts by the spy’s in place were doubled as they now sought for alternative high net value targets. Opportunities were available due to the rush to move assets out by Vikings and another Black ops fleet was called.

The fleet formed up with additional Black ops and transports for higher numbers and scouts made there way out to the starting system, we were all tucked up in an isolated area with no other pilots in system with us and our spys hunting for juicy targets. The opportunity of a freighter taking down a POS was available, but as the POS was not coming down for another 50 mins the assets started to look further afield.

An asset joined a ratting fleet and found that he could move from squad position into a squad command slot with the fleet semi stood down but with pilots and ships POS’s up. Intel was fed back to the Black Ops fleet when it was discovered that there was a Nyx POS’d up but still in the fleet and in the assets squad.

Quick calculations were made as to how much dps we could bring to the field and how long it would take to bring down the Super-Carrier. Not only that, the black ops fleet had no HIC’s or DIC’s so we would need a method to hold him down. The system adjacent to where we were jumping to was also now noticed to be free of a cyno jammer and that was factored into our situation.

It was decided to anchor a bubble at a planet and our asset inside the Viking Empire brought one out to Planet 3 and lit a cyno for our Redeemer pilot to jump too, as our Asset had no skills to anchor a bubble. The redeemer jumped in to a covert cyno, anchored the bubble and jumped back ( a 20 second window) had anyone in the system noticed our black ops pilot, did any one care, were they all too busy trying to make isk or save assets. It seemed so.

With the bubble in place and our inside asset in squad command position, a quick call was made to -A- and friends as we badly needed more dps, now we all know that everybody and there granny wants to get on a carrier kills, imagine the scramble for a Supercarrier.

Fifteen minutes later and it was getting squeaky bum time, as the fleets formed and the black opps ships prepared for what was to come. The nervous tension was building as on-going intel was coming over comms from the asset inside Viking Empire, was the Nyx still at the POS, was he still in squad command position, had he bookmarked the bubble, oh so much could go wrong, but hey if it goes right its epic.

Spank ‘n Gank

Everybody started to get twitchy and the decision was made to have the asset squad warp the Nyx from the POS to the bubble. He went to the POS where the Nyx was and initiated squad warp, all this was relayed over comms.

Initiating warp came over comms, are his engines on came the cry… yes they are on, speed is building, 10… 20… 30… our nerves started to jangle as we waited in anticipation, 40… he is moving! he is moving and increasing speed, 50… 60… he is in warp he is in warp!!!

Comms lit up with cries as Maka screamed: jump jump jump juuuuuummmmmmmmmmpppppppp…!

The cyno in the adjoining system had been lit and both fleets poured in. the fleet jumped into the target system as they had bridged next to the adjoining systems gate and the call came …warp to planet 3 …warp to planet 3 …Hics bubble, bubble, bubble …bubbles popped up and the fleet poured onto grid to see the Nyx enveloped by bubbles.

DPS rained down on the Nyx and his shield started to bleed, “neut… neut… neut…” was cried as the curses started to drain the Nyx of its cap and repping ability. A lone red cheetah appeared on field which had come to see what was going on, it lasted a nanosecond as its was targeted and downed.

The Nyx was now heavily into shield and that fated info message came across the screen – the coward and initiated self destruct. Had he no help coming, had he decided that honour was something not for him…. Definitely not a true Viking… Overheat guns, overheat guns came the cry as he bled into armour… The Nyx ceased the self destruct at 43 seconds… had he found courage or had he friends on the way… was that cheetah a cyno for PL coming to his aid.

Pour it on came the command as the fleet struggled to make the kill as fast as they could… The Nyx pilot who seemed to have found courage and honour lost it and pushed the self destruct button again… Damn him! We so like a SC kill, still, its a loss and we know it’s been done. The Nyx dipped low into armour and then it was gone, we had not beaten the self destruct, but a golden gem remained… His POD. Over 2 bill gone in a pop, how sweet.

Yes, we had burned one of our assets in Viking in order to get the kills and it was confirmed that the logs were looked at to confirm how the Nyx had been warped to the bubble, this had been a conscious decision and was well worth the time and effort put in by the covert team who initiated the programme but the good news was that the main assets were still in place unknown, unsullied and available for our next op. My how we were going to look forward to it.

The Black ops fleet stood down from the Main fleet and started to make its way home elated in the knowledge that it might have taken 2 hours since they started the op and hey they had only got one recorded kills, it was a pod, but yea it was worth over 2 bill and the pilot had self destructed his Nyx to give us it, we all knew in our heart that that loss was down to us and the great background work conducted by a few that had sacrificed a single toon to bring us a night of nearly perfect joy.

The unnamed spy who had guided our hand that night remained in the dark of space, unknown and unrecognised to the fleet our thanks goes out to him from all in the black opps fleet and the support that was called. Its not many times that a single persons actions can provide such enjoyment, excitement and the adrenaline rush felt by those that committed there ships and pods into his hands, he has our thanks and gratitude.

With assets still in place, we could look forward to some more.

Nice to see another alliance showing that spies are important assets in eve. If you dont use them, they will be used against you. Down with carebears :)

Well done, a good plan worked out and many had fun. Spies are every where thats no secret. Fortunately that is not the only way to play eve, would be pretty boring if you have to wait until you find a (valuable) target.

But I seem to miss the point where Kadeshi has any link to viking… do I miss something or is just THOR as ticker the only conection to northern folk?
It is very irritating to degrade this good writing with side notes like "(the one and only True Vikings)" with no obvious reason why you are more part of a dead culture than someone else. (especially 20k Years in the future)

hehe, aren't we all at least semi gods? can't die unless you hit the "recycle" button or get your account deleted?

but still didn't got the point where good planing, working and fighting comes together with dead ancient "terran" history 😉

Well, the link could be due to Kadeshi being populated with mainly Scandinavians as opposed to Viking Empire, who is mainly German.

thanks, that really helps to understand that claim. well but names are just only that… names. "schall und rauch" you would say in german. don't know how you say that in english.

Ewoks claim to be some funny teddy bears but still are standard capsuleers like everyone else 😉

The main difference would be that Ewoks are not funny teddy bears behind the keyboards, but Scandinavians actually are decendants from Vikings, even when they log off.

Its quite obvious that true Vikings would fight to the death while cowards would self-destruct (suicide).

  10. 90+ bots

There is a sound file out in which the spy has his "comming out" on Viking TS3 + the Viking alliance leader in which he claims to have 90 (in words: NINTY!!!) high sec bots running to finance the alliance as there is no other way to do this in actual hard times of eve 😉

Nevertheless the spai is a nooB…

Soundfile is German and I need to find it and will post it here asap!!

This ever so dumb cunt commites to have 90+ high sec bots running and the thing is: This is fucking real!!

All noobish friends of EVEGER forums know him as "cracken"…some know him as "Dix0r" and PL knows him as "Baki Yuku" or some shit like that…and if you need a "local bug" code…he sells it also!

    *Searching for sound file*

It was a fun op to set up, I must admit that overcoming the problems (Asset unable to fly dictors or anchor bubbles etc..) was the best part of it. Shame about the self destruction though, it denotes a certain lack of character.

Oops, need to embed that proper. The carrier kill in the preceding op, just to give a taste of what it's like in the alliance.

Also, our killboard shows that we're vikings. Just keep an eye on the ships that appear on the battle at the top of the page 😉

  14. First, get an editor. The amount of typos and grammatical errors made reading this almost physically painful.

Second, speaking as a former real world intelligence analyst, I don't care if your "asset" (I think you've watched a few too many spy movies, bro) did reveal himself to your targets: You NEVER, EVER reveal sources and methods. I don't care if everyone does it; this is basic operational security stuff, you moron.

the spy was already burned. why not announce it and rub it in their faces? It makes for delicious tears and makes the rest of the Viking Empire paranoid. Next thing you know, they'll be booting all of their non-spy players. lol
