It seems xDeath is heading north again.  This should come as little surprise, with Red Alliance evacuating, xDeath is faced with a renewed SOLAR, fighting a single front war.  xDeath likely decided to move against IRC before they could become a threat.  About a month ago, PL and NCdot brokered a cease fire and finally a NIP (No Infrastructure Pact) ending xDeath’s invasion of IRC space.

Last night, xDeath broke that pact by dropping SBUs in Cobalt Edge.  IRC retaliated as time zones shifted from Russian prime to US time.  Towers in Osaa were reinforced and SBUs were dropped in Outer Passage.  During that short, fuzzy hour or so, between the two time zones, a battle was fought.  xDeath had around a hundred aHACs and tier 3 BCs as well as a couple dozen armor support carriers on standby defending the SBUs they were dropping dropped in E-BYOS.  Almost instantly, IRC was upon them.  IRC threw what looks like a kitchen sink fleet of Drakes, Oracles, and Bombers into the xDeath fleet, followed by cyno’ing in carriers and then super carriers.  xDeath killed what they could, finishing off two carriers before retreating from the system before things went south.  Quit while you’re ahead.  The SBU died shortly after that.

Since IRC had good numbers, they entered xDeath space and began dropping SBUs.  Less than an hour after losing their SBU, a surprised xDeath was calling for a CTA to attack the SBUs being placed in their systems.  xDeath began by sending a few supers with minimal support against the three SBUs in 1A8-6G.  IRC scouts were in system with them and it seems IRC decided not to engage, possibly assuming it was some kind of trap.  xDeath intel suggests there was no backup, and the fleet was flying by the seat of their pants.  After an uneventful half hour of structure shooting, the SBUs were all cleared out.

xDeath, apparently high on hubris, decided to continue on to the next system.  The xDeath defense fleet engaged the IRC fleet in VH-9VO at 02:00 game time.  xDeath was outnumbered, 2:1, but apparently believed their hellcats would prevail over the Alpha Maelstroms.  Perhaps they had more faith in their tactics against an alliance that is generally considered bad at PVP.  Well, IRC broke the stereotype formed by the last two years of combat.  Initially, both sides poked at each other from range, IRC expertly keeping their fleet deep behind bubbles, so the hellcats could not get up close, under their artillery.  xDeath stuck with it, attempting to get a solid warpin, losing a few ships along the way.  Eventually, the xDeath fleet got what seemed to be a solid warp in, between bubbles and the fleet began to warp… only to have another bubble go up with perfect timing.  The xDeath fleet landed on their edge of their range, in perfect range for the alpha maels, and promptly were bubbled in.  The IRC fleet began tearing them apart.  xDeath logi were cleaned off the field quickly.  The xDeath FC went down almost immediately.  His secondary went down shortly after that.  The primary FC apparently decided “screw it” and continued to FC from his pod.  In the end, xDeath were left in their pods, if they were lucky.

VH-9VO Battle Report

Both sides left the field with good fights in local.  xDeath left with a little more respect for IRC, then reshipped for a roam elsewhere.  We will soon find out whether either alliance decides to continue pushing this sov fight.

We didn't engage the 1A8 fleet for two reasons, one, we didn't actually know our SBUs were dead till they showed up on the KB and two, we where sort of busy RFing VH, which takes a while, even with over 100 dudes.

xDeathx and RA have only been fielding token fleets of a maximum of 70 pilots or so for the past month. Usually, they only field around 50. Now that RA is gone, xDeathx will not have much support, sans from the emergency bro-phone of PL and NCdot.

Are we implying IRC can beat a combined PL, NDdot supercap fleet now?

Heres what happened, IRC was burning Oasa, and LOD/SOD only once tryed to defend thier space(which they lost), then hired PL to take thier space back in Oasa, which PL did. IRC continued to SBU random LOD/SOD space, and PL pretty much said you can't fuck with our contracts and get away with it, so they headshot, and brokered the deal not wanting to grind another region which wasn't on thier contract.

If it wasn't for PL xdeath would have likely already been wiped off the sov. map.

    Go report. Some additions/corrections:

The truce xDeath broke was one PL/NCdot force on IRC, to stop IRC from steamrolling Oasa. NCdot's unofficial response upon hearing what happened was "what the fuck?" PL is also not likely to be delighted by xDeath's total lack of honor.

Soaking of honor, the SBUing of Cobalt was kicked off by an alliance that was actually blue to IRC.

IRC SBUs were dropped not only in Outer Passag but also in Oasa. More are coming.

Last time around, IRC reluctantly attacked xDeath out of support for Solar, him we respect and owe much to. This time around, we are going at xDeath with total talibanic glee. This fat old Russian alliance can't get it up anymore, and anyone with snse can smell the blood in the water.

While IRC higher ups are driven by anger to move toward wiping out xDeath's shaky renter empire, the line level pvp-ers (yes we have more than carebears in Cobalt) are ebullient now that the pact is broken. We've been roaming xDeath space ever since the sov war was cancelled on us. wishing for the barest excuse to re-escalate the conflict. So thank you, UAxD!

XDeath's decisions have gone from bad to worse. First he alienated their long time ally solar and brought this war with solar on himself and then he restarts this war with irc when their south is about to get hit by AAA and Solar. It was great and all that he was one of the if not the major player in bringing together a strong enough group to kill the NC which needed to die but he has killed his own empire through horrible decisions in the last 6 months.

Did you skip the part where it said "xDeath broke that pact by dropping SBUs in Cobalt Edge"

I'm somewhat intrested to see PL and NCdot's responce… we all know PL has a large amount of CSAA's in LOD/SOD space so it is somewhat sticky situation i'd assume. That being said how long can PL prop up this dead horse, and it's in times of desperation like the one LOD's in right now when you could see them team up with just about anyone to survive, perhaps stabbing PL, and/or NCdot in the back. Grab the popcorn?

Doubt they'd stab PL in the back. LoD have probably gone past the point of no return for a lot of their enemies. I doubt Solar/-A- would make a deal like that. Instead I forsee LoD hiring PL/anyone else to be a spearhead + try to get shadow/pets fleet numbers up as meat shields.

Besides Solar/-A- confidence must be soaring and that helps get fleet numbers up for CTA's. With the hordes of people/bots that make up LoD and SoD it should be interesting to see if they can get fleet numbers up. Renters/Pets generally make poor CTA bed fellows.

Oh I understand the logic, but that logic presumes they can finish off IRC before Solar arrives, which means they either had too much to drink during that meeting or have started believing their own propaganda. IRC does things a little differently, but what we do, we do damn well.

I don't think the xdeath of today can take IRC in a stand-up sov war, and we're going to bloody well prove that over the next few weeks (to boot, in a few days spring break kicks in). I'm sure Solar will want in on the fun and I'm sure we won't turn them down. It'll be a good way to welcome them back home.

Hangon I could be wrong but didn't IRC back stab their so called friends Solar not all that long ago when they thought things might be turning for the worst?

IRC could be a whole lot more if they got rid of halfwits like Oldma who are not in it for everyone in the alliance he is in it to continue to line his own wallet with their ISK.
Anyone remember when Oldmas Alt Belag flew that Anathema full of BPO's into a camp on a station? He is just too elite for everyone else in the game & although I would rather they win than XD I would like to see them do it with someone that has an idea at the helm & not some self absorbed Southerner that must have been dropped on his head when he was born ;p

Nope, when PL brokered the deal solar pretty much said, hold on to all the space we have around you well we're gone, and handed sov. over pretty much so xdeath didn't get a foothold in cobalt.

Yeah, anyone watching dotlan could plainly see a corp left solar and joined irc to hand it over. If anything, both sides prepared for the day when PL got out of the way and the plan was to pincer attack from the beginning.

The only question is if PL is going to allow custodianship of their CSAAs to pass from xdeath to an alliance that still actually exists. My money, right now, is on yes.

            March 9, 2012 at 5:44 am
          5. Anonymouse

The funny thing is that PL's CSAA's are xdeathx's. They just spit the super out into a waiting merc's hands when needed. The power of renters + buying materials below empire cost means they could do this forever. (Until the renters get nuked, I don't know what they'll do then.)

BTW: To anyone wanting to break this cycle, start beating xdeathx's buy orders so they lose their materials. It will be expensive with no guarantee of returns unless you take/get docking the stations you get stuff in, but you will hurt them one way or another. Loss of mins, or higher cost for them to get them. (They don't really police their markets very well either)

You gotta look at it from their standpoint, if they dont take you out before AAA and SOLAR arrives they are pretty much fucked. If they do take you out before then they are less fucked. Whats there to lose for them? They are assuming 100% when Team South arrives that IRC will bandwagon anyway.

We were never anything but and remain +10 with SF PL and NC. just "explained" it to us and we had to back off. And I think, from conversations with SF leadership, they understand the situation with the combined forces of PL, NC., XIX, BB and others against us in our TZ.

UA screwed the pooch by violating the NIP that PL and NC. brokered. Two thing you don't do in Eve are 1) Breaking your word; and 2) Telling PL you were going to do something / cutting a deal with or through them and then not honoring it – PL has been and remains a scary-good PVP force.

      XIX did both.

Speaking officially for IRC: S**t just got serious and XIX is going to hurt.

I can honestly say IRC is so ticked at this backstab by UA that we are all in.

Breaking a NIP like that is smart – you instantly increase your enemy's participation just out of anger, and are thus afforded more targets to shoot.

PL and NCdot must be happy too, and next time everybody involved will find it much easier to achieve peace. Trust is a wonderful thing.

me personally i think it would be embarrassing for PL and NCdot. Especially PL who more or less brokered the deal of the cease structure hostilities. i mean what is x death saying to PL "You are paid to do a job do not make deals for us because your word does not mean crap." that is what it sounds like when i read what has happened. So what has this said to the rest of eve, PL can not be trusted, or they can not follow the rules. Or does this mean Xdeath used PL like puppets to make PL look bad ? If this is the case shame on you Xdeath and you deserve what is coming towards you.

There is that. Right now their client list is a bit…thin.

I doubt Solar would hire them. IRC? No. -A- No. Other southern alliances? Probably not. Goons and Co.? Probably not as they can bring plenty of numbers to fights. So PL will likely not be doing all that much for awhile unless they decide to take space which I seriously doubt.

They might go start grabbing Tech moons again, but I don't think that will stay interesting for long.

You all assume that xdeath was a co-signer on the pact. If they weren't, than any pact between PL/NC. and IRC is irrelevant to xdeath. No transgression until PL/NC actually shoot bullets at IRC stuff.

At the same time, IRC dropping SBU's in xdeath space might very well be a transgression of the pact. And assuming xdeath isn't broke yet, the mercs will likely come back and get all up in Oldma's grill.

Here's a tip: You can probably take most of Oasa without firing a shot if you just ask the corps living there already to switch to a new rental alliance and pay the same amounts to someone else. Heck, you could probably get all of shadow that way once you drop kick some of the XIX capital stations. The best part about that fight was that -A- was fucking with IRC to begin with then IRC keep convoing us about xDeath fleets in the area. Then they told us xDeath had Dreads deployed. We temp blued with IRC and burned towards the system. When we arrived we warped into xDeath for a brawl, rape faced some guardians and other shit and they started to bail like faggots. We started chasing them for a few systems and caught some stragglers which ironically is what we were doing to IRC earlier.

IRC has no desire to blue the universe. Fighting against groups like -A- is what allows us to gradually improve over time… and prevents dronelands from driving out our PVPers. Strange as it may seem, while we desire regional friends, we don't necessarily desire that they all be set blue… just that they temp blue for big fights.

Still, right now, we'd rather focus on offing xdeath… we've been offended on a sov level, so forgive us if, for the mean time, we're not looking for skirmishes with groups we don't actually hate.

Truly it is interesting, considering the current situation xxdeath has put themselves in, NCdot having already stated that they will play no supportive role in dealing with xxdeath, and the fact that even if xxdeath tries to pay off PL now, it wont happen – they have well an truly screwed themselves. While IRC has never been given its due props, think its about time people stop beating on a dead bush and finally understand that the NIP was not for xxdeath, but forced onto us to stop us from steam rolling the region, cause we damn well would've. But again, thanks to xxdeath, this is all good and fun for us, finally we can flex our muscles some and otherwise go pew pew in some big fights, nothing like letting our dreads, supercaps and titans come out to play for alittle while, cause we all know … we want to play with our shinies!

Getting better and better, IRC please keep us posted.

I will also set a stop clock how much of Oasa Region you burn through and hold before SOD/LOD scream and beg for PL to save them with the biggest mouth watering deal ever such as, trillioooonnnns ok isk, Titans and SC at a heavily discounted rate.

    Tick tock.

Except you can't build titans/sc if your renters aren't selling you the drone goo….

He who controls the drone goo, controls xdeathx….

PL, unless I miss my bet, will not accept further contracts from xdeathx. xdeathx broke a NIP that was brokered by PL, and PL does not take kindly to their honor being infringed upon. Mercenaries rely on the value other people place on their words, and the reason people are willing to pay PL 60 billion isk a week is that PL's word is gold.

Historically, when employers have broken promises made under PL's auspices, PL has told them to fuck off. Given xdeath's performance in their own war, I doubt PL much cares to work for them again anyway.

So I'm guessing the bat phone now has a busy signal. Grape-vine has it NC. may even be annoyed enough to hit them themselves.

The only value you can put on PL's words is on the dollar menu at Mc D's

For all of the Drone Lands victims!

LET us cry out Death to Death! (xxDeathxx)!
They have broken their word on all fronts; dishonor now reigns supreme. It is incumbent on all of Null Sec to rise up and bring forth justice on xxDeathxx. Peace upon the Renters, for they soon too will be betrayed.
