Intrepid Crossing’s Caravan of Horrors pull from the XIX/SOLAR Conflict. The “Legion” to blame.

Twas the evening in Cobalt and all through the map, not a pilot was stirring, except a PL titan anchoring SBU’s in E-BYOS. The calls over alliance went around with a clatter, get in DPS ships, and warp to the tower.

Alas a form up was called, for dreads and supers, IRC wanted to stick it into the Legion’s pooper. With a 130 in fleet, and a setup for bait, the Intrepid Crossers did what they do best, and that is sit in the tower and wait. After three hours past, and the SBU’s went online, the Legion brought some subcapitals, looking for a good time. Longer we waited, spinning our ships, and we would watch as fleet our count would continue to dip.

With a plan not well established, I’m going to stop rhyming because this is where it gets good. As our valiant FC tried to confuse the spies by saying things like “Align to X” and putting in fleet chat “Align to Y”, all he really did was confuse the hell out of everyone in fleet, and caused confusion beyond belief. A few times we’d warp to an SBU and take some pot shots at it, just to see if we could get the now two titans and a carrier off the station so we could get some of our fleet out, we ended up back at the POS once more. So basically two titans, a carrier and a 20 man sub cap fleet just sbu’d the capital of IRC. After another joyous hour of waiting for our FC to get home….. yes IRC has only one FC that is capable of leading a fleet larger than 20 people….

We finally decided to engage, and sat down on an SBU, started gunning at it, waiting for the party to show up. As the titans landed, one popped a cyno, and the inevitable happened, with more tracking titans and supers jumping in, and killing everyone in their site. With people trying to regroup, and with the e-byos station still rape caged and starting to get renforced, we gave it one last shot to get some kills, and suicided the remainder of the fleet on the station, along with some brave souls who actually bothered to reship. So we leave tonight, with a reinforced system, a 3300 man alliance that can only field a fragmented 100 man fleet, and chaos about to ensue.

I <3 IRC. Eve-Kill Battle Summary

Caravan of Horrors

Now this happened almost a week ago, let’s do a bit of a refreshment on current Intrepid Crossing events. Since IRC switched sides from an older XIX ally to SOLAR Fleets rank, a roller-coaster of emotions has been rapturing the alliance. After taking almost half of the Oasa region, Legion of xXDeathXx managed to get Pandemic Legion to in Shadoo’s words “Help and Old Friend”. The result was immediate, first with Pandemic Legion reinforcing everything in sight, helped in no small part by the XIX super-capital fleet and taking back what ever advance Intrepid Crossing had done during the first weeks of the month. As it stands now, all the taken system from Oasa either went back to XIX hands or are in Pandemic Legion’s possession.

This has certainly put a strain in IRC’s newly acquired bravado, specially when Pandemic Legion didn’t stopped there and started SBU’in their E-BYOS capital system in Cobalt Edge. Talk about bacl-slashing consequences of war. Naturally, rats are the first to leave ship at the first hints of sinking, and so the first corporations bailed out, with Element 27 being a notable example. For E27 the rumor is for them to possibly head to Agains All Authorities, but nothing written in stone, what we can confirm is that somehow the Legion had managed to surprise fleeing members during the evacuations.

E-BY station reinforced
by Tessa Yor ยป 2012.1.18 17:38

Last night PL supercap blob rolled into E-BY, deployed SBUs, camped for 3 hours while they onlined and reinforced our station and IHUB. Station services were incapped as well, but thanks to the repair crew all back up and running. It’s not clear what their intentions are at this point. We’ll hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

There are few actions everyone must take now.
– Move your medical clone out of E-BY station, leave a jump clone in if you wish. Reason: if you get podded, you need to be able to update your clone, get a new ship and go back to the fight. E-B station will likely be bubbled or medical services incapped.
– Spread your combat ships around, particularly where your medical clone will be. If your corp has a POS with ship array in system, you can store them there too. We will need lots of bombers (stock concussion and void bombs), cyno ships, fleet battleships, drakes, shield (and possibly armor later) logistics.
– If you have any valuables stored in E-B station, move them out. Be extremely careful – PL keeps a cyno alt there ready to jump on us, and there are xxDeath and Goon gangs around. Scout the station before undocking, use a manual cyno on station instead of cyno gen, make sure the station is not bubbled if you are coming from gate or bridge. Be patient.
– Capital pilots – if you have a combat carrier or dreadnaught in E-B, move it somewhere else. Make sure it’s fitted, fueled and ready to go. Keep a jump clone there.

New Orders

From: Takhion
To: CEO’s and Directors

These are my notes from the in TS3 meeting.

First, we are in discussions that I wish we could tell you more about.
We will give out more information about as soon as we can. Just know that HC has plans within plans working right now.

If you can get your assets out of Oasa safely back to Cobalt, you should do so.
If you can’ t get your assets out of Oasa safely, then stay put.

Special orders for E-BY
E-BY is in its first reinforce timer.
Move your medical clone from E-BY to a neighboring system
Move ships to neighboring systems as well, preferably more than one system.
Prepare for defense operation, it is already on the calendar.

Combat Orders
All active pilots should be in the standing defense fleet that is up at all times.
The goal of this fleet is to camp gates and stations and make sure people can move around safely.
The fleet will regroup for home defense and other larger targets.

Focus on our home.
Don’t be roaming somewhere else.
Reds are right here.

Fly Safe, Kill Reds. Lots of Reds.

Shortly afterwards Intrepid Crossing gave into the pressure put by Pandemic Legion and in exchange of not getting their region taken away faster than Oasa. An new poster in the kugu thread threw in an interesting insight of the situation:

Well as it turns out, IRC is down 439 pilots in the last 7 days including two of the main active & fighting corps including BAA & -E27- that have left…. IRC made some deal with PL to spare them… Oldma promised to suck Shadoo off or provide titans super cheap…. As Tessa said, now they know what to do for a new upcoming war (maybe have some SBUs/TCUs ready, maybe actually have some ship replacement for logi)! W00T W00T, the ice queen is going to fail FC another war (and a bunch of lonely boys again will sit and listen to her because she has a vagina and plays eve)!

Anywho, the question remains, why did PL spare them? There is NO WAY that IRC can put up a credible defense to anyone at this point. Take out the 3 refinery stations and the war for them is over, the care bear members (i.e. IRC Renters) will all leave IRC within a week. Without the members & refineries, they can’t sell ships to white noise, raiden and become a useless alliance (more so then they are now).

The headshot for IRC is as follows:

Q-VTWJ
I-CMZA
5ED-4E
MO-YDG

NOT E-BYOS … a lot of shit on sale there but VAF deliveries can be moved to… A-0IIQ. Also if you think Oldma is going to lose 10% and refine in MK-YNM, you’re crazy!

Also, if anyone wants any forum porn for IRC:

Have fun!

Raw Intel

IRC have given into PL, NC demands and have abandoned Solar Fleet in return for PL to remove SBU’s and stop their attack on IRC Home System E-BYOS.

IRC Corporations are leaving in disgust and many members are up in arms because the IRC High Command have caved in at the first sign of a fight leaving their friends high and dry.

Talk about being thin-skinned. Anyways I want to end with a positive note for Intrepid Crossing, so i’ll leave this video here about them going all the way against Black Legion’s bloopers.

well #1 is that EBY should have been cyno jammed as soon as the SBU's went up. Secondly you get enough people in fleet that can apply some real DPS using the new t3 bc platforms. When PL started shooting in EBY they didnt have 150 supers they only had a couple. Hell if we could have gotten 100+ pilots in stealth bombers(there were 200+ on in alliance) we could have done some damage (maybe not enough to kill one but enough to cause some panic)
You dont attack head on against the supers. You find ways to fight around them.

Your ignorance is showing. IRC never had a chance, the whole campaign was doomed to fail from the get go, and here is why….. It was well established that LOD was being protected by PL, PL defended LOD's capital system twice versus Solar before IRC ever got involed. Now you would think that IRC`s HC would see PL, and NCdot`s involvement and just think alittle about how strong PL and NCdot are in EU/NA timezone, and how much, if any allied support they would get in that timezone aswell, but they didn't, they went headfirst into a guillotine.

What they should have done was just stick cloaky fags in any high ratting killed SOD's systems hotdropping SOD's ratting faction BS's, and carriers, and not once thought about hitting sov.

Honestly, it sucks that Shadow had to pay PL to fight for them.

After we were wiped, PL dropped a lot of good fights in local, and saying we were better than -A- for at least trying to fight….so that's something.

You were better than -A- from what perspective? From the perspective of:
        1) welping into PL to provide content to a bunch of bittervets sitting in supers?
        2) "Good fights" that ultimately ended in the lot of you being sold by your leadership into indentured servitude to PL.

This may be pretty spot on to someone to is either a spy or hates their own alliance, and yes, IRC could have done something while the SBUs were onlining, but it would have ended the same way it did. From the moment the SBUs started onlining, there were several titans and supers waiting in W5 in a tower for the fight to begin. According to Shadoo, the only reason they even SBU'd E-B was because we kept trying to take the W5 station back. PL made a boo-boo on the timers and missed the shield reinforce timer on the ihub twice, meaning the ihub still had a couple days and the station was already flipped.

as a former IRC (got out around 5 months ago) i'm not really surprised at this turn of event, IRC were allways shit in pvp, the only good pvp guy and semi-small scale fc i can name are Kev Lar.

the only part i'll give IRC a lot of props for are that they (used, not up on current numbers) field equal numbers to goonswarm, considering goons are larger, and a center of a coalition and that they got the leaders they do.

and thats _all_ positive things i'll give IRC recognition of,

ofcourse, its also impresive how they managed to find renter corps as turns out for mandatory pvp ops, all the while unaware of their renter status.
but i doubt thats a positive thing so even if impressive i'll leave it out.

To be fair, the corps that left had been planning to leave long before this war in the south and only stayed to fight the war out and NOT leave in the middle of a war. IRC HC bending over and taking it in the ass was the final nail in the coffin though.

You left out this little tidbit by Abinadi9 (E27 CEO who posted in that same Kugu thread) which may shed some insight into why that corp left:
" IRC HC would never, ever be condescending. We prolonged our stay in IRC because the hope of an actual meritocracy was given but was quickly refuted by Wiseoak telling corporations that they'd have to buy any station and pay for any "shared sov" that was gained in the war. I made the mistake of thinking we actually gain something by not dragging our feet like most corps in IRC, but at the end of the day I was told that all the other corps (the 2600 toons that only form up 70 man fleets) "pay the bills". "

I can confirm the above info, Abinadi9 promised to stay until the end of the war. Once HC surrendered to PL the war was effectively over for IRC.

We were like the little kid that was given freedom to do whatever they wanted. But when one of the neighbors called we got smacked around by mommy and daddy and put back in place.

To be honest morale in IRC is low. We kept getting thrown into "home defense" fleets for "roaming NCdot" however it wasnt a roaming gang at all. It was an arranged fight and Oldma and Tessa called for drakes against a freaking tengu fleet from NCdot. Come on lets be honest do you really think drakes are gonna win that one!!!
So now I am in that battle and we are getting slaughtered, and no order to leave the field is given, even after it is quite clear we would not win that battle. So now we have every noob crying because they got blown up and that was their only drake ect ect, and we are told that this is a learning experience to teach us how to PVP. Last I checked getting lemminged into an enemy fleet is not teaching us how to become better PVPers.

Also after that fight it was to show us "why" we should train for tengus. Instead of trying to be creative HC just wants to copy the latest flavor of the month from Big brother NCdot (who they basically want to have babies with).

As for the logi reimbursement, there is NONE. I have had a contract up for 5 days looking for a scimi that I lost in that battle, and still have yet to get the contract back. Last major alliance I was in I lost a logi I got one as soon as I docked back home to make sure logi pilots kept flying them.

All in all its getting pretty shitty to be in this alliance.

You know, you could just buy another Logistic ship and get back into the fight ASAP rather than waiting on someone to hand you one? Sure, its great if you get reimbursed (easier on the wallet!)… but if that's your excuse for turning and running after the first ship loss in the war… then you have basically confirmed the stereotype rapidly forming for the IRC alliance.

As for Drake fleet losses… that's one to two hours of making ISK for most players in EVE. Are your alliance's pilots are really that bent out of shape for losing Drakes? /facepalm

Well considering I have several Scimi's I dont mind loosing one and already have replaced it. Problem is that they claim to have an SRP but it takes forever to have them replaced. Not to mention the only way to get stuff to and from CE is if you go through VAF (which most of their stuff is overpriced) or have your own cyno chain + JF or other jump capable ships you are using to ferry your stuff.
And dont talk to me about ship losses during a war. Have had plenty of ship losses (sacrificial carriers, logi, ect ect) and I replace them all. My point is if you offer SRP as an incentive to have pilots flying logi then you better dam well back it up!
Secondly that is the 4th or 5th time that we have been lemminged into an NCdot fleet while I have been with IRC (a couple of months) and its getting old. I dont mind loosing a fight but when you arrange a flight and you get your teeth kicked in everytime (by that I mean loosing almost 100 ships to the 10 you killed) then yea it gets old real quick like. Sorry if I don't enjoy that but give me a reason why I should join fleets if they just turn into shit like that. Hell if HC was truthful upfront about it instead of trying to conceal it by calling it a "home defense" vs an arranged training fight I would be all for it. In the latest battle we had 100+ in fleet compared to NCdots 50 some odd. We lost the entire fleet basically, we killed 1 sabre… 1 fucking sabre… give me a break, why should I keep joining fleets if results are going to be like that.

Actually learning how accept losing ships is step one in a PVP education. Sometimes you need to just suck it up and cover your own ships when things get ugly from a financial standpoint. Thats the difference between alliances that bend and those that break under pressure. IRC is essentially an alliance made of corps that really should be renters.

Not exploiting anyone. Play to have fun pew is fun. Waiting around for a ship to be replaced is not. This game has become a grinding job for so many people chasing ISK. It's also obvious that when the alliance is getting their shit pushed in it's likely they won't be getting your ships back as fast. I think a lot of folks use the they stopped the replacement program as justification to bail on the alliance from which they suckled off of when things were good.

It's rather amusing as some other "IRC Grunt" posted a week or two ago that morale was "very high" right after you appeared to be joining the winning team. Now that shit isn't going your way, morale is "low". It's the tale of the paper tiger alliance.

IRC is the ancestral goon hunting ground. Whenever there isn't a fight to be had, you can lead your 20 or so small scale rifter fleet or whatever you have into IRC lands and get some hilarious killmails. The one and only good thing that goons can say about IRC is that they often do give fights.

Otherwise, they are just horribly bad at pvp and since a lot of goonies went irc hunting as a passtime, they hate us so. The only reason they are a sov holding entity is that the area sucks and they are cuddled behind their overlords so few really bothered them. Too bad the overlords in the area turned on themselves and the protection has gone.

Your welcome to dig up the BR, and post it, you'll notice how alot of the pilots are on the BR twice b/c they came back after losing thier ships, to shoot at a POS's in the same system for another two hours.

No real blame from us in Shadow that IRC picked Solar's side. Those were their allies and the only reason they held space in Cobalt. But if their downfall was not predicted from the start, it was certainly guaranteed after the release of their alliance meeting. How blind to think PL was here for a weekend holiday. But its another failure of leadership. IRC pilots flew bravely, albeit taking a little more credit than deserved for overrunning Shadow renter systems in Oasa until they hit the wall in WW-0VQ and just couldnt finish it off. But where did they really think this would end? How many times will Oldma lead them off the cliff. Worse, how many times will the lemmings follow such poor strategic leadership. As a former IRC pilot myself from back in the day, maybe it really is time to just eradicate the group so the corps there can move on. Because repeating the same leadership-inspired blunders over and over again is just lunacy.

IRC managed to brake legion of xdeath, and pushed them half way to Oasa's cliff, this article failed to mention how many corporations and renters left Xdeath before the war ended! we never lost any corp until xdeath cheated and invited with PL to play godmode. ok so we caved in to save our system but that is after the facts. any intelligent reader will see this report for what it is, when some 1 is telling you we gonna lock down ur systems and ur own allies cant help and busy elsewhere and you dont have enough forces to counter this kind of threat, the smart thing to do is to negotiate that is what leadership is for not just war mongers like ur simple minded reporter.. so you going to judge leadership failure because the enemy paid trillion isk to end the war? that reporter must be pot into circumcision to prevent retarded children if its not too late.

as for solar, personally i have to say i'm disappointed, at moment of crisis in there space we showed up for support, but where are they when we needed them. perhaps i missed it but i dont see any 1 in the alliance talking about solar lending a hand to us during the war, what other choice but to leave them to there fate if they failed to help us even once.

E27 and to all who left the alliance, :) we will miss u but u will miss us more because while ur leaving and losing ships along the way we r already got other plans, and its going to be more fun than this war. too bad ur not in it any more ๐Ÿ˜›

As a IRC pilot for a while, i can say that someone in HC is making a fucking huge profit from this alliance, min contracts bought with alliance isk, ships bought from alliance never seem to make it into the alliance wallet.

IF it isnt the fucks at VAF mart charging through the ass for stuff its the fact that the fuckers have the right to all wormholes until they're done with it.

If it isnt wiseoak patronising the players to the point of one of the core corps just walked out (ignore the bullshit haze, E27 left due to wiseoak and Oldma being fucking liers) and generally being a disagreeable twat its Tach' and Oldma buying yet another holiday from RMT.

Seriously add it all up, they buy mins at a 20% cut under jita (You have no other options other than to build stuff), charge corps for sov, provide no ship replacement policy, demand that the economy is run through AWECO so they can take a slice.

Srsly i know CE is like the worst region in the game but could someone come and upset oldma's gravy train.

Hmm those EVEmails sound so very familiar from when was in IRC back when they were at war with RA & Co & things started going ass up.

It's the very same people saying the very same thing, only difference is it is some years later & in a different region. While ever IRC is being run by Oldma & his small bunch of merry fools this will keep on happening. It also explains the sudden drop in the number of corps/members IRC has had recently.

I will also bet that IRC HC has made sure most of their assets are already out of that area, Except for Oldma of course he will want to fly another Anathema into a station camp that has it's cargo hold full of BPO/BPC's & have some lame assed excuse for doing it.

Any of the IRC Leadership announced that they have a holiday or something coming up that is going to stop them from being able to login for a while yet? Or have they started logging in a lot less yet? It's coming as they have form for doing that sort of crap also!

As a member of a corp that has allegedly left the sinking ship I would just like to point out that none of us left until IRC high command decided to go back on all the promises made to the corps within the alliance and then betrayed the alliances allies. The day that IRC HC announced that they'd surrendered OASA and issued a don't shoot at PL / xxDeathxx / anyone else that might threaten our isk food chain any corp that had any dignity at all issued a /quit on the spot.

We are called the rats? IRC HC is filled with liars and false promises, we didn't want to rent the space we helped take over, we never got the ships replaced that were promised, and for an Alliance that gets 8-10% on refining, they can have spare fleets ships on the ready at anytime but instead continuously produce SUPER and TITANS that they never use.

And to the article poster. We lost more than a Rorq on our exit we lost some Carriers and a Nyx too! But do to our friendly corp atmosphere, we have a new one! And honestly, it was worth that price of leaving IRC.

And to future IRC Corps, just know this, you aren't part of IRC. you are a renter corp that gets a discount if you sacrafice ships for "good fights" and Good fights in IRC is the HC talking to the enemy fleet FC and agreeing to jump into their camp where they are at range and the gate is bubbled!

This is what pissed me off the most about IRC. I loved flying with a lot of the people there, they had one or two decent fc's, and the corp I was in at the time (BAA) was full of fun folks but it constantly felt like we were going in halfsies on a timeshare, and HC were the full owners who didn't give a shit if you disliked the color of the walls. It was mauve or stop buying in.

We (random grunts) spent a shit ton of our personal assets trying to help fight the NC only to get shit on. Really wasn't worth it at all. And I mean.. a shit ton of our personal assets. Have you ever flown an abaddon with an FC who has no idea what they're doing? 200 guys in abaddon's wiping to 100 welp canes because FC's dont know how to use align points, anchors, logis, warp ins. It was just pathetic. Lose a dozen abaddon's to fights like that till you get sick, and crosstrain for logi, only to discover that that logi replacement program doesn't actually exist in reality, and only on paper. Sit there waiting a full month to get guardians reimbursed because your FC warped you to 0 on welpfleet YET AGAIN.

I liked my IRC experience. I know what to avoid like the plague now.

In case people in irc wanted to know why there is a fail logi program is because the HC wants the people in irc to lose ships. The ships might be "cheap" but people are blind to realize that irc still makes money from the cheap ships. Sure titans might cost around 35b and super caps might cost around 12b or under…but without the support fleet being able to survive because irc does not believe in normal logi…or even triage carriers…there tends to be suicide fleets and a lot of them. Irc will buy minerals at around 30% of what its worth in empire, charge for each system it rents (assignes out) and any moons a corp might have. The HC in irc will always say they are "poor" as they rake in the iskies, tells the alliance they dont have the money to afford the logi program (or just taking forever to replace "cheap" the 60m logi ship). Please remember all the yellow wrecks go to "irc loot" and it is suspose to "help" pay for the logi program. The HC in the alliance will setup certain fights to lose ships (and tells the enemy what were bringing and tatics being used against them). Remember people in IRC, the next time an hc member tells the fc to fight even in the highest loosing odds or in a setup fleet, expect to die because in the end VAF and/or IRC will make a profit.
