Sorting out the mess.

Let’s start with a cheat sheet on the actors of the current civil war within the former Drone Russian Forces. We’ll be talking about them in the coming weeks, so for simplicity’s sake and to help us bear the storytelling, we have identified two major factions:

XIX & Co.
– Legion of xXDEATHXx
– Shadow of xXDEATHXx
– STR8NGE BREW (awesome name)
– VooDoo Technologies
– Circle-Of-Two
– Cluster of Rebirth
– The Gorgon Empire
– Flamebridge
– Bloodbound.

– White Noise. and Raiden. are also sided with Legion of xXDEATHXx but with their own problems to deal with. Red Alliance and Controlled Chaos still hold ties with XIX but they have chosen to stay out of this fight.

– GoonSwarm Federation has been sending bombers fleets sporadically, they usually side with XIX *if* SOLAR FLEET is on the field, after the fight is over they’ll shoot XIX if possible. Our Russian handle mentioned how The Mittani “sides with UAXdeath when it suits him”, what ever that means.

-Intrepid Crossing

StainWagon has been supporting SOLAR FLEET in several engagements.
– Stain Empire
– RED.Overlord

-A- and Gypsy Band are red to XIX, they come to the Drone Region in NBSI raids shooting indiscriminately, though a tendency towards XIX since that’s where the biggest engagements are happening.

The Intrepid Crossing.

We had mentioned in a previous piece how Intrepid Crossing had picked a side for the Russian conflict. The did it by openly aggressing Shadow of xXDEATHXx, the feeder alliance of Legion of xXDEATHXx, here is the battle summary:

They have attacked the Oasa region, taking sovereign and on-lining TCUs and towers in station-less systems. During the last 48 hours they have successfully taken over fourteen (14) systems from Shadow of xXDEATHXx.

DOTLAN Linkage

And joining operations with SOLAR FLEET:

SOLAR FLEET –> IRC Killboard

Legion of xXDEATHXx’s Capital Solar System.

Little is known for outsiders about the 1A8-6G solar system in Perrigen Falls and its intrinsic strategic value for Legion of xXDEATHXx. It is the capital system of their coalition and as such; the jump bridge system, their industrial backbone and almost every single coalition-wide activity revolves around this solar system in one form or another. Knocking it down would be like taking out VFK-IV from the Deklein Coalition, HED-GP when it was held by -A- or similar to the H-W9TY from the former Northern Coalition; it is not just the strategic/logistic value of it but also the large cache of weapons, materials and ships contained in it that makes it such a valuable system, not to mention the morale blow that is for a coalition to lose their capital. SOLAR FLEET knows this and that’s the reason for which 1A8-6G and the neighboring PE-SAM solar system. has been showing up in so often in DOTLAN frontpage.

Legion of xXDEATHXx had their I-HUB and PoS shot on Christmas day by a SOLAR fleet gang, they managed to repel the fleet at heavy losses:

The SOLAR FLEET strategists took notice of the Super-Capital display brought by Legion of xXDEATHXx [XIX] and the next day repeated the attack. This time they applied a heavy dosage Nyx/Aeons of their own. The form up from XIX was lukewarm during this engagement, SOLAR FLEET held the field and took down an XIX tower.

Order of Battle.

The stage was set for a slug-fest of biblical proportions on December 27th, SOLAR FLEET made preparatives and sent invitation to their allies for the party at 1A8-6G. Legion of xXDEATHXx formed up to receive them in a very homogeneous Shield Tempest fleet, while their allies brought a trusty Drake contingent. Once again their Super-Capital fleet rallied to defend the system.

On the attacker’s side the dress code for SOLAR FLEET was 1400mm Artillery Maelstroms along a large Zealot wing. StainWagon chaperones arrived in “chic” Naga fashion. They had dropped sovereign blockade units before hand. SOLAR FLEET also had their super-sapital fleet in stand-by, should a good opportunity present itself to use them; they would commit their super-capitals to the fight.

The fight started fairly well for XIX & Co. during the first fifteen minutes they had already taken more than forty (40) battleships, seven (7) battlecruisers and three (3) Tech 3 Ships at almost no losses. In the meantime, the super-capitals were making short work of the deployed SBUs.

Up to this moment the fight looked like as a landslide win on XIX favor.

The Gate-Crashers arrives.

Resembling an unfair Deux Ex Machina called in by SOLAR FLEET, an enemy Gypsy Band bomber fleet appeared at bombing range on the XIX overview. In matter of seconds, seventy-two (72) Legion of xXDEATHXx battleships and battlecruisers were obliterated in a single, but wildly successful bombing run:

SOLAR FLEET Battle Report – scroll to 18:59

According to the GypsyBand Killboard the losses for XIX accounted over 140 ships:

Gypsy Band Bombing Report

Fashionably Late.

The blood was in the water and sharks had certainly taken notice of it, twenty seconds after the Gypsy bomb run, the null-sec “Notorious Duo”, NCDOT and Pandemic Legion made their now customary closing act; a grand entrance with a +100 Pandemic Legion ThunderCat fleet backed up by NCDOT’s Lachesis/Scimitar support ships. They had heard about the fight and fleet up ASAP, burned into the system with the intention to shoot anything on sight, “The Legion” inadvertently tipped the balance of power towards Legion of xXDEATHXx’s face by shooting SOLAR FLEET. This, added to the fact that GoonSwarm Federation made a few bomb runs against SOLAR forcing to retreat after facing heavy losses.

We asked our Pandemic Legion handle if they were called in by XIX, he denied this mentioning that they heard there was a fight, formed up and headed out using titans, since “it’s always tempting to kill 300 maelstroms”. After the fight was over, PL/NCDOT took shots at bumped out Intrepid Crossing pilots who were idling at their staging tower.

A commenter mentions how Pandemic Legion / NCDOT were on the field before the Gypsy bombing run, after carefully checking the video and comparing primaries, we’ll have to concede that he is right. No wonder XIX were dropping targets so fast.

Proof of Pwnership

One of the few thing I really like about Pandemic Legion is their disposition to document their exploits, an hour before their “unexpected entrance” to 1A8-6G they had managed to kill an Aeon on the Assah solar system in Derelik, their Perrigen Falls intrusion follows the super-capital kill:

Aeon Kill-Mail

Kate Pole quits Eve in style, warping her Aeon to a station in Assah and shooting anything that moves. She ejects from the Aeon seconds before it is blown up by Pandemic Legion supercarriers.

The fleet fight takes place in 1A8-6G where Legion of xXDEATHXx, Pandemic Legion and Northern Coalition. take on SOLAR FLEET, IRC and friends, after the initial engagement there are several more skirmishes around the system before SOLAR and IRC retreat to POS.

Raw Intel

After your coverage of IRC yesterday, and comments that IRC did some work in OASA yesterday, wondering about followup reports.

I notice a battle in 1A8-6G involving Death/PL/NC. vs Solar/IRC, dotlan says 857 kills. 70 bill destroyed

Had NC. chosen sides before ?”

Friends are the worst enemy a person can get since they know where it hurts and when is best to hit. I believe this is the case with SOLAR FLEET, they know many of XIX weaknesses and won’t miss a chance to land a wrecking shot on them. Their bold attempt at the Legion of xXDEATHXx capital is proof of this.

Wether they succeed or not in capitulating 1A8-6G doesn’t change the fact that part of the damage is already done, XIX has been challenged at their backyard and much of their dominions are under attack. Legion of xXDEATHXx tenants (read: pets) are watching. Several of the alliances supporting Legion don’t have any particular love for UAXDeath’s empire and would switch sides and landlords if it suited them, this is one of the reasons an attrition war is not the best course of action for XIX. SOLAR FLEET knows this and they have made clear that their quarrel is with XIX, they have no ill will towards blues of XDeathX other than being on the wrong side of the fight.

Weeks ago, Intrepid Crossing was correctly pointed out by many of our readers that they could prove valuable for whoever they side with in this conflict. They are proving to be a pain in the ass for Shadow of xXDeathXx both in the sov map and in the field. Yet they are in no good position if White Noise. pulls back from Branch. Which would send the GoonsSwarm after them.

Speaking specifically about the 1A8-6G battle, Legion of xXDEATHXx was bound to win the battle (although with a lot of help from Pandemic Legion/NCDOT), had Gypsy Band not gotten lucky with the bombing runs. We’ll see if this repeats after their FCs learn from their mistakes (as in “de-Blob on land”). Still, is uncanny how similar to the real russian army XIX is; they are a force to be reckoned with, although a bit rusty one.

SOLAR FLEET remains defiant as they again attacked 1A8-6G and PE-SAM a few hours ago, barely winning the round.

1A8-6G / PE-SAM Battle Report December 28th

Nope, the fight is definitely not over yet.

IRC is a good ally, they do the dirty work.. Like taking Oasa, or protecting M-O area when NC. had other things to do.. (NC. then decided to be turncoats, but thats another story.)
Not the most fun work to do, but they have proven they are gladly helping their allies, and that they are solid and loyal allies to have.

haha wow this battle report is so fucking wrong lol.

Team Solar had Team XIX camped into the station for hours.

When team Solar warps to the tcu to kill it goons bomb SOLAR and PL/NCDOT bridges in on top of them.

Team XIX undocks and battles some Stain empire lr tier 3 bcs.

Team XIX warps 8ish titans into the NCDOT/PL vs SOLAR fleet.

IRCs 160 man fleet never leaves the pos (lol)

After some heavy pew pew XIX tempest finally arrives on the ihub and team solar is heavily outnumbered and warps out.

IRCs 160 man fleet still hides in their pos doing nothing.

Solar comes back on ihub grid to snipe some but quickly gets probed, heavily outnumbered adn with 120 tengus on their faces they try to run but lose 75% of the remaining fleet due to bubbles.

Solars 2nd fleet warp to a gate and jumps out, this is when XIX follows and gets rape bombed by gypsy.

After that XIX supercap kills the sbus and saves the system while ncdot/pl spends the time bumping the 160 IRC out of their small passworded pos.

There you go, wont go into numbers since local peaked at 460. But before the arrival of Tengu crew team SOLAR had the number advantage, obviously IRC not commiting and their 70ish bombers waiting until the fight was over to bomb didnt help.

    2. Funny, this BR was made with input from pilots on both sides. PL/NCDOT bridged-in 20 seconds after the bombing run, not before it.

SOLAR got a very good custom kill-board which shows the order of battle in detail.

I forgot to add the fact that SOLAR didn't cynoed their supers out fear of getting hot-dropped by PL/NCDOT, funny thing is they only had the Thundercat fleet fit for battle.

Methinks our XXX friend heres mind was clouded about the events due to large amounts of vodka. The old DRF fleets had a 6 drink minimum to join up, I would venture a guess our red comrades haven't changed their drunken flying habits.

And if you look at battle timeline from this very good custom kb carefully, you can see that the PL tengus fights vs SOLAR maels before bomber run.

        >The fight started fairly well for XIX & Co. during the first fifteen minutes they had already taken more than forty (40) battleships, seven (7) battlecruisers and three (3) Tech 3 Ships at almost no losses.

SOLARs suffered this losses mainly from PL tengus and Goonswarm bombers.

          2. herp_de_derp

Well I think their issue is they really haven't had too much when it comes to recent PvP experience, I mean hell, look at the tempest fleet they are fielding, maelstroms or abaddons could put the hurt into those. Past blobbing supers and titans, they've lost touch with current fleet doctrines. (Which OFC, blobbing supers is the favorite fleet doctrine of anyone with enough of them.)

Actually Riv, The NC. and PL fleet attacked the IRC POS in waves. They had the chance to bubble both fleets in the small POS chaos and get both the bumpers and the bumped but they didn't, alternating in the attack instead.

So this level of coordination tells us that they were hired by XIX for this conflict. I would say NC. is either banding with PL for the kills, or they got a nice cut too. Will they stay around for other major fights? I just foresee a lot of PL+NC. in many major fights in the future of this conflict.

Solar has no problem with RA

Heres the thing RA is fighting -A-, and goons, and goons are blue to LOD, so making enemys with with solar to save on of goons friends sounds like a dumb idea. There are many in the community that are even implying that mittins, and Uxdeath planed the solar vs. lod war to begain with, so RA would be helping goons by backing LoD.
