This one is a short bit, but many of you might find this interesting. Basically, our confirmed “black market” intel reported a Pandemic Legion leadership decision to leave the north, and with it leave behind a hefty amount of abandoned moon towers. Mostly of the Technetium variety (it’s the North after all).

Well, so far no shocker, but the story one needs to take into account that Pandemic Legion high command ordered members strictly “not to sell any moons.” WHAT A TWIST! This decision wasn’t received well by many Legionaries and many decided to start selling the moons anyway.

So, if you are pressed for a constant flow of moon-goo at a discounted price, feel free to contact your local Pandemic Legion representative and take the exciting risk of getting scammed, all in the spirit of making a quick buck.

Ever Wondered how many Technetium moons are in game

It was once mentioned in The Collective’s Skype channel, which also served as an informal meeting point for many ex and current CCP developers, that there is in fact a finite amount of technetium to be poured into the market:

[11/05/2011 01:15:25] Baldur Geir Gunnarsson (Leitz): to those interested in how much $$$ there is in technetium.

300x8x12 = 28.8 trillion ISK per year.

300- number of moons
8 – profit in billions per month.
Cost of ISK is roughly $23 per billion.

So you end up with roughly 670 thousand dollars per year which is peanuts since iskbank had 200 thousand dollars worth of ASSETS.
and they are considered a tiny players in ISK selling market.

Wait, what!?

PL like Goons and DRF would never scam anyone have you missed their reputation for honesty. Don't you remember how strongly they defended their renters space from ROL in delve after taking it out from IT and renting it at stupid amounts of ISK / 2 Weeks..

PL on the move again? Shady deals of a new contract to come soon? Will DRF take over the moons to increase their already formidable isk farm empire? What does this mean for the war campaign in the south?

Look forward to seeing the answers on EN24 soon.

Not surprising. A single dedicated botting char will still earn you more than a tech moon. Until CCP gets serious about botting anyhow. Highend moons are a little overrated these days

Except running a Technetium moon is within the rules of the game and therefore not cheating, unlike running a bot.

Ok, I'll spell it out for you.

"A single dedicated botting char will still earn you more than a tech moon" is effectively saying "Cheating will still earn you more than a tech moon".

By the same principle having a friend spawn T2 BPOs would make you more ISK than a highend moon, or RMT will make you more ISK than a highend moon.

It may be news to some, but not everybody cheats.

I'm pretty sure the guys selling ISK at iskbank are cheating, and they're selling it to people who are also cheating

But the point is all that ISK from from botting has vastly more impact on the EVE economy than all highend moons we fight huge costly 1000 man cap battles for control of. Impact felt by all who don't cheat

            September 6, 2011 at 7:42 am
          2. Imigo

And that's exactly how it should be. Moons take a lot of effort and coordination to take and control, and battles over hotly contested moons are awesome when they go down. So I took issue with you saying that highend moons are overrated because they create some of the best game content available by bringing people together to fight with or against, unlike cheating bot users.

You're quite right about the extent of the impact though. It would be a very interesting economy if it was entirely run within the rules of the game.

Another PLasticks joke, first they claimed Venal, than they were innerly fucked, after that they were lost (again) a bit, then they "decided " to leave North and finaly – now they are selling (North) moons.

What idiot would is gonna buy it now? Better to w8abit and get if free, because one is for sure – PLastics wont be there to defend that (retarded) renter.

We still have plenty left, and as Vily discovered last night, we'll still defend them.

All Fade and Pureblind moons are back in CFC hands now where they belong, the FA guys most specifically who recaptured all theirs with 8 hour long stealth bomber ops.
