RaidenDOT All-Out Assault on Providence starts – NOW!

Here is the thing that always get people worked out about Providence, it started out as one of the less desirable regions in game due its poor moon distribution and bad NPC bounties, Curatores Veritatis Alliance took the task to up-bring the region and maintain an open policy regarding their space, Not Red Don’t Shoot was the rule and a much touted “CVA Black-List” was preached to the four corners of Providence as a warning to those not wanting to adhere to the role-playing empire “laws” and share Curatores Veritatis Alliance utopian vision. Business was good and the rest of the galaxy saw as CVA thrived in what others considered a “God forsaken region”, CVA kept dropping station after station, charging for services and doing a good amount of money in the process, which was in turn re-invested in the region. Then Dominion came around and much had been written how the the new upkeep / upgrade system brought by the Dominion expansion changed how Providence was seen by other alliances and after that big leadership ‘hiccup’ which prompted Atlas (sans DOT) take the region off CVA hands, ever since Providence haven’t been the same.

A bit of RaidenDOT perspective

Lets fast-forward and focus on the other side of the Galaxy, RaidenDOT would had been doing good for themselves so far if it weren’t by a couple of skirmishes versus MercilessDOT and the short lived LEETPVP assault on Deklein Coalition territories, back home the captured moons appear to be milking moon-goo at a proper rate and the renting business in Vale and Geminate, while slow, provides a fair share of profits at a rate of two (2) billions per rented system a month. A recent NAP with several neighbouring entities only further ensure the stability of RaidenDOT’s northern domains, if only the noisy kids from the corner would just shut it…

The ‘GEWNS’ question and the Rise of the “WhelpCat”

If there was a front where RaideDOT had been quite busy is the one presented in the aftermath of the afore-mentioned LEETPVP invasion, the Deklein Coalition had successfully repelled the Pandemic Legion, Ev0ke, NCDOT, IRC and RaidenDOT combined attempts at their capital systems, most of the invaders decided to bail for the south, but RaidenDOT was left with their new found homes just a couple “cyno jumps” off the Deklein Coalition territory, repeatedly finding themselves outmatching a new trend in internet space-faring combat, the WhelpFleet.

In short a “WhelpFleet” is a fleet composed mostly out of “WhelpCats”, which in turn are nothing more than a good chunk of Auto-cannon Hurricanes put together and sent in a suicide mission in the hopes of scoring a super-capital kill, the fight usually end up with the WhelpCat fleet getting their ships squashed by their enemy super-capitals with the GEWNS usually scoring one or two carrier kills versus a 1000% equivalent of losses, several metric tons of spam in local and the defeated Deklein Coalition fleet returning home eager to grind more Incursions in the hope to repeat the whole process. (Don’t worry, we’ll reveal your Incursion secret soon(tm) ).

A text-book (comic-book if you like) example of potential futility/sucess of a Deklein WhelpCat fleet is highlighted in the following battle-report, which according to our leaker it was published in GSF.com by Mister Vee (no confirmation on that though).

Well, that was definitely interesting :v:

We tagged the Raidendot convoy (they’re deploying south) and formed up a 250 man welpfleet of which ~180 hurricanes to jump their shit. Vily caught two titans in a system that unfortunately was right out of bridge range, so we jumped in nextdoor, jumped into system and rushed the avatar. Raiden quickly jumped back to bail him out, at which point I figured we had to welp the shit out of welpfleet at least once before all hostile peace out from the north.

Killed a thanatos, tried for a Hel, but the lag from drones cut our dps down too much (40 sc’s worth of drones + equally many carriers). He got to about 25% shields when it was obvious it wasn’t going to work. Bubbles dropped, warped us out, had people reship (fuckit canes are cheap).

Then some clever guy in fleet saw an avatar ewarp off, we probed him out and started hitting him, drag bubbles up towards the rest of their fleet. Fucking thing started melting so fast because he was full travel fit.

Then we had no cyno for the 70 canes that reshipped and, yeah, we literally missed the avatar kill because of that. He got to 50% hp :welp:

Lessons learned, shit was fun, next time help me out when I broadcast for cynos and dictors (looking at you, cheka).

It is fair to note that EN24 has in fact documented the successful use of a WhelpFleet against Pandemic Legion, you can read the details here.

This said, a lot of people tend to forget that Eve Online is little more than a game and if people is having fun, be the way that it is, then it’s all good, in this same vein many folks might not recall how the original GoonSwarm, whose spiritual successor is the current GoonSwarm Federation made a name for themselves using “zerg” tactics coupled with inexpensive fits, so this might be their version of “Obama’s Trip to Kenia”.

Aggressive Expansion

All these ‘GEWN’ antics do not appear to have an effect creating a sense of insecurity within RaidenDOT as they have apparently dismissed these close-encounters with the Deklein Coalition as simple nuisances and thus decided to pursue a full scale invasion of the Providence region, for this we have a rumoured figure of 40 billion in “PVP boats” already bought and in current transit towards the region, all in an effort to conquer the region and eventually re-sell the stations (as it happened in both Vale of the Silent and Geminate regions), the full swing of the attack seems to be slated to start this Saturday, but we have already began receiving battle reports of their activity in the region.

Two Days Ago

One very agitated Providence reader sent us the following lead which taunted how Providence was falling back out of CVA hands as Raiden. had just arrived, just as they said they would and certainly with a bang.

With no warning or intel on CVA/Provibloc side, the RaidenDOT fleet landed via cyno in R3-K7K, bringing three (3) Titans, an assortment of Super-Carriers and 60+ Abaddons and 50+ Bombers. Within 20 minutes RaidenDOT was in firm control of the system as they dropped three (3) SBUs, incapacitated the R3-K7K <-> SS9X-AX jump bridge, after which they moved to work on two (2) additional POSes in the solar system.

RaidenDOT then turned their attention to the N8XA-L and X-R3NM solar systems. When our reader asked what would be CVAs response to this attack, he was told by his superior Leo d’Green:

“We do nothing, don’t fight”

Apparently CVA response will be a stoic one, letting them take Providence in the hope for them to get bored, leave and rebuild afterwards.

And also, he told anyone who annoyed him by asking anymore questions like that would be kicked from the p-fleet intel channel…. Nice diplo skill’s right there. So as i type, R3 is still red (Radian.) and they aint getting bored yet. Provi is about to burn and the war in the south just got some new player’s. Looks like CVA are gonna have to buy Provi back again, like they did from Evoke and friends!!

Analysis

We feel it’s extremely naive from CVA to simply “hope” for RaidenDOT to get bored and leave, RaidenDOT move is sound, seen from both strategic and commercial point-of-views. First it’s not surprise to speculate that if given a side, the current Providence residents would be vocal in their support towards the -A-TEAM efforts, as they share many NIP and even fleet up and helped them in their war-effort.

Secondly it’s extremely silly to think RaidenDOT is doing this for fun, truth is they are very serious about their renting business, as a proof here is a sample of their renting program towards the Vale of the Silent and Geminate regions:
Raiden Renter program

Purpose:

To rent space belonging to Raiden to corporations that are willing to purchase a lease agreement for exclusive use of that space.

Concept:

Raiden will form a renters alliance which will then occupy Raiden space in Vale of the Silent and Geminate. Soverignty (SOV) in Vale and Geminate will be turned over to the Valhalla holding corp and all SOV in both Vale and Geminate will be transferred over to the same holding corp. (Valhalla Holding, which will remain in Raiden.)

From that point renters will purchase a lease agreement from the holding corp and once the agreement is made they can then begin to occupy there space. The first (thru the 5th) of every month payment will need to be made to the holding corps wallet for the rent per corporation renter space.

Once the agreement is made corporations will join the renters alliance and become active members. All rented systems will be exclusive to the corporations that are paying for them. The only exception will be escalations from that space which can lead to other systems.
Renters will only be allowed to rent space if they join the Raiden. Renters alliance. Reason for this is standings. Standings will be set to the renters alliance and not individual corps. We do not want the hassle of having to adjust standings with our allies weekly.

System upgrades will be purchased by the corporation that is leasing the space. That corporation will also be responsible for deploying the i-hub and in-placing any upgrades they wish.
Station Systems will belong to the Valhalla Holding Corp only. All upgrades for those such systems will be installed by the Liaison’s to the renters corp.
Non-Station systems sovereignty will belong to the corporation which is leasing it. (meaning they will pay for the sovereignty and any upgrade bills)

All unrented systems will be in the Renting Alliance holding corp. Those SOV bills will be paid by the holding corp until a suitable renter is found. This space while not rented will remain proprietary to Raiden and its Renters alliance holding corp
Signatures will be on a first come first serve basis. For an additional fee Corporations renting the space can have exclusive rights. Same goes for geological rights. Hidden Belts (Mining system upgrades) will be exclusive to the corp renting the space.

Anoms will be reserved for the renting corp for that system only.

The only exception will be escalations from that space which can lead to other systems, this is free reign anywhere in Raiden space for escalations only.

All Technetium and r64 moons will remain in Raiden. hands. These moons are exclusive to Raiden. and its allies who might occupy those moons. They are strictly off limits to any renter corporations. Any Renter corp found to be messing with those listed above will be removed and set to a standing of -10 to Raiden.

Raiden. reserves the right to terminate any lease agreement at any time that is deemed fit by Raiden. leadership.

Raiden. has a NBSI Policy, so shall the renters alliance. Those wishing to seek diplomatic ties to the Raiden Renters shall be in contact with the council overseeing that alliance.
Existing ihubs that are already deployed in space will be purchased by the new renters upon signing of the contract. The leaving corp will be repaid NPC price for upgrades that are installed in space by the holding corp.

Price:

Price for systems will be determined by the Council that is overseeing the space in question. Each system will be evaluated by its usefulness and the price will be determined by the council for each system, its potential and what its to be used for.

Defense
The renters alliance will be tasked with defense of their space. Raiden. will not be responsible for the defense of renters space. Only at times deemed necessary by Raiden leadership will Raiden become involved in space defense for renters alliance.

Intel

Raiden will host a channel used for shard Intel amongst Raiden and the Renters Corp. That will be available once the new alliance is formed.

Ice Systems

Ice systems will be free for all to use. If that system is rented by a corp the Ice Belts will remain useable by anyone in the alliance. For an extra fee the ice belts can be purchased for the corp residing in the system only.

Super Cap Construction

If you are looking to begin super cap construction you will need to discuss terms with Raiden. All super caps produced will be offered first to Raiden. Then if they are not purchased can be sold on the market.

Raiden Public Channel

All problems within the renters alliance will be brought to the Raiden pub channel and talked over with the council who will oversee the renters alliance. This is the best way to communicate with the renters alliance leadership. You will not bug anyone other then the council for any problems having to due with Renters space.

The Channel name will be “Rad Pub”

Travelling outside Vale / Geminate

Renters are not welcome in Tenal. Renters will remain in vale and in geminate. Renters found in Tenal will be asked to leave. If they do not leave they will be shot.

Blue on Blue fire

If a blue decides to attack a blue. The killer and his corp are responsible to repay the loss of the ship. Blue on Blue fire will not be tolerated while being a member of the Raiden Renters team.
So the “Yeah Let’s Bore them to Death” approach doesn’t seem to be the appropriate one here, specially given how easy is to grind station timers with super-capital ships, yet the alternative to fucking off to empire isn’t appealing either as facing one of the biggest super-capital fleets in game and given the CVA Leadership’s lack of experience in large scale warfare paints a pretty grim scenario to the whole situation.

Praying for the God out of the machine

Luckily for Curatores Veritatis Alliance, if the GEWNS are actually planning to deploy in the South to save the -A-TEAM’s neck of their own Dantesque circumstances, but given the GSF past record of playing along with any plan CVAs would like to put in practice, we wouldn’t bet on it.

The SupercapBlob of Doom will not stop until all of eve is transformed into barren botland.

I hope CCP realizes their game is currently going down the drain. A couple of alliances seem to conquer everything with their highly mobile supercaps.

When moving 100 supercaps is dirt cheap for any alliance which can reasonably field them, why not?

You could theoretically own over half of Nullsec and any nuisance can be dealt with in near impunity within hours unless an equal or larger Supercap blob is fielded in response. Geminate to Providence in 1.5 hours? No problem… 😉

The next patch is coming August 30th; there probably is a small chance the titan/supercarrier nerf will be in it, so the long winter for supercap reliant alliances may be coming very early.

Not likely. "Incarna 1.1 will see the results of our progress on improving the existing CQ" sounds a lot like CCP is still focused on our walk-in closets more than our spaceships.

That might happen but it might also develop in situation like bori in one of the serwers of age of conan.

For those that dont know what bori was. It was a place in border kingdom when aoc devs had a "great" idea of making open world pvp. Basicaly you had to mine stuff offer it at bori shrine get tokens that could be changed to imba pvp gear. End was quite predictable a single group was holding the shrine and every one else was unable to do s..t about becuase they had no bori gear. Even if there were times where bori was unoccupied by them it would still be scraps compared to what they were earning. As a result the holders get biger because peoples join them to be on wining side. They were bored soo they started to shove their bori d..k in to everyone face ganking peoples left and right. The result was a mass exoduss of players from that server and from the game.
Supercaps show a lot of similiarity to bori gear. Anyone trying to fight the super bloob coalition will have to make a biger bloob of supers but they would not be able to becuase they would not be able to get them faster than someone who can build them. Then they get bored and start to drop supers on random small gangs all over the place at a slightest hint of defeat. Their skills will turn to s..t soo they will drop them everytime. Peoples get bored and go back to empire/wh space/ other games. Yes at some point they will propably fracture in to factions fighting each other but damage to player base will be already done.

I still remember being one of the Holder Corps in CVA space before the first cascade fail at the hands of AAA and friends. I remember begging to be allowed to make raids on AAA citizens to slow down the AAA War machine. I remember being told that such actiivty was "not condoned by CVA, and anyone who did that would suffer consequences" I remember forming up 150 man HD fleets only to wait on gate for 2 hours and not engage the 40 man fleets on the other side… I remember CVA crumbling to the cries for action from within their own ranks which were met only with disdain. Now Only those original Wizard hats remain, doubt they will make the same play again? I don't…

Its a hardly an unexpected development. With system upgrades changes every region can be turned in to bot/renter haven. After catch and provi is secured they will move to ROL and former WN space with Evoke capturing delve. Capturing stain wagon space will propably be just a formality.

Well i doubt mittani reads this but i can say one thing you are a coward a smart one but still a coward. Use the time you bought well because unless the nerf brings end of supercap era your little goon haven will be hit by Raiden., WN, NC. Evoke and their kitchen sink after they are done with -A- wagon and SW. Your brosefs from RA etc. will just sit and watch how you are geting torn appart by the super bloob and i am certain that they will provide them with tools to get job done this time.

lol Raiden.'s are really dumb is they think they can "sell" this systems to any scrublord alliance…this space is worth absolutely nothing (besides the tons of stations).
Oh and yeah…CVA's tactics to do nothing is right.
They cant do anything against Raiden…they'll just drop off 60 supers and stomp everything.
So why waste resources? CVA will stay in Misaba area and harass the renters – if theres some – and some time gain their space again for a short period of time, then loose it again…
The Provibloc has thousands of ppl but the vast majority of these are alts or useless carebears who field drakes in hellcat fleets, just sayin'.
Also, the statement that theres only "old wizardhats" remaining within CVA is utterly wrong- go check dotlan. with the fall of the NC some ex-paxton, ex-nc corps joined em in their fight against the ebil.

CVA never bought any systems from Evoke.

Second CVA has a long history or guerrilla warfare on squatters. There may think they own the space but we charge rent in kill board losses for their stay.

They bought systems from NCdot at the price of the i-hubs and other infrastructure.

Evoke handed it off to Ewoks IIRC and didn't ever sell to cva (except for R-3 maybe).

    1) -A- kicked CVA out of Providence during '09/'10, ATLAS was present for ops in the areas they were taking but -A- and U'K made up the vast majority of fleets.

    2) Every fleet doctrine doesn't need to have the word Cat stuck behind it.

      1) The AAA invasion was in response to an invasion by LFA/CVA, what Raiden is doing is unnecessary. Also, AAA would have called off the invasion if Aralis had the common sense to formalize the NIP that was already un-spoken, but he put roleplay first.

      2) I totally agree with you. The people who use the ships should name their setups, not Riverini. Goons don't call it "Goon Cats" they just say "alpha fleet," partially because many others had an arty-centric doctrine in 2010 before Goons started using it.

CVA has never been geared towards building a war machine like other NBSI alliances/coalitions. CVA and its allies have always been about building a civilisation and giving access to those who want 0.0 space without the constant need to kill everything.

RaidenDOT can have provi, we wont fight them, but they will have to burn through every timer there. We will howeverr rep stations and force timers to reset, down SBU's and make your job difficult. You will probably win with your SC's as we do not use them, so there is no doubt Provi will fall once more.

  27. CVA Pilot

But CVA did not ever pay for Provi, systems where given back freely when ncDOT/Ev0ke left, if they say different it is because they are trying to save face. Money did exchange hands, and corp ownerships where transfered for ihubs and there upgrades. This was done to save time and money, pretty sensible really.

RaidenDOT renters will be welcome, please feel free to pay all the rent you can, as your income will diminish as Providence is truly a bad place to live unless you want too. No Sansha havens or sanctums, poor assteroids, not many mercury/plat or dyspro moons, you would be better off in NPC 0.0 space.

The reason CVA is here is because its our Home, you can destroy it many many times, but we will be near buy ready to rebuild .

Imo as an officer within CVA, i feel that RaidenDOT are welcome to Provi, as some of our Allies do not deserve the space they have and perhaps loosing it will give them a new perspective of how insignificant they really are.

Well heres to the GF's In local, and the constant "FFS when you gonna leave so i can rat you bastard" in 😛

Oh yeah… when someone else is getting invaded its just another day in carebear land, but when youre getting invaded its 'OMG THEYRE RUINING THE GAME COME SAVE US GOONIES !'

Do what we did and figure out tactics for how to defend your space. If you cant, well then this is just eve's version of natural selection at work.

Spot on, CF where able to rape-cage their supers for a week, and that scared the phuck out of "LEETPVP" Alliance.

How many did you get into systems (protect them cyno jammers)and co-ordination was top-notch.

Instead of giggling start preaching the "rape-cage-sc's-keep-them-cyno-jammers-up" doctrine so others can put this tactic into place as a counter balance this over reliant leetpvp tactic.

People are pissed by atm. Raiden's SC domination, in some time people will celebrate CCP as "ultimate unbalance fixers and saver of NewEden's way of life" (and dont forget this "you game needs YOU parole) and here we go again…

Bottom line remains that ccp will do shityt job in long term, again, regarding sc unbalance or bots, and people will still be pissed 'coz "ruskies are better/faster organised". and bots are still here.

It's already impossible for DRF to get a fight once their supers are deployed.

What would make 0.0 exciting again would be if Raiden + NCdot did a reset of the Russians.
