Goonsowarm Federation (GOONS+co) and their allies defeated IT Alliance and their allies (IT+co) in Fountain. THe system of PNQY-Y was captured after a long battle, which had from minute one only one side as victor. Goons+co flooded the system and forced IT on the defensive. IT decided not to use supercapitals (they had 10 titans and 25 motherships ready) and used armor hacs versus goon alpha battleships concept.

IT Erebus piloted by The Kan got probed in the system on safe after he was aggressed/logged and got shot to structure before he disappeared.

Lag was very heavy, guns weren´t cycling, but every minute more and more IT+co ships died and in the end the rest had to safe up in a tower, where many IT allies died as they haven´t got the forcefield password.

21:37:08 Notify The station PNQ Yoshimi Outpost has been captured by GoonWaffe corporation!
21:37:16 Notify An outpost formerly owned by Tin Foil has been captured by GoonWaffe

This represents first station changing hands in Fountain for several months and whats remarkable is that IT+co got beaten in their prime EURO timezone. Despite their best effort, IT was unable to have even a slight chance to win this encounter. As there are many more structures in Fountain to be taken down, they will have more opportunities to hit back.

Interesting Forums voices:

Meh – as far as i can see NC/Goons won because:
a) They have more pilots that care we do (no – we quite clearly did want that station but everyone was either ratting or thought everyone else would turn up to save it)
b) We thought an AHAC fleet (we are traditionally shit at) would be good vs alpha fleet
c) We didn’t go balls-to-the-walls with the supers
d) We either pissed off/let die/killed anyone who might have came to help us so we were heavily outnumbered (might be wrong with the numbers part but meh – you can tell me to go fuck myself)

Broadcast from The Mittani (GOON leader):

(10:32:42 PM) directorbot: GOONS: Molle is furious, and demanding that his euros stay awake for the next ~infinity~ to defeat us. The war is not over; the battle itself isn’t over, as even though we have the station, we must guard our onlining TCU to ensure our primacy; we must prepare a vigil – a vigil of z0r. If you’re just joining the party from US tz, fights will be happening all night in PNQY; Use the Eye to get to B-D/J5A and we will bring in reinforcement fleets (because J5A -> PNQY has gankers, don’t run it alone). We may have won a great victory, but we can still fuck this up and lose everything we worked for if we pat ourselves on the back and consider it ‘over’. We could particularly use more Scorpions, as we lost a fair chunk of those in the previous multi-hour slugfest.

I could be wrong but wasn’t the timer introduced to support DC, not SuperCap survival???

IT is not the IT that invaded Fountain. Simply from the numbers, 160 from IT?? That’s is *pathetic* for defense, in their prime. When IT invaded fountain, they were pulling 2 full fleets by themselves, in PL’s prime!

      500+ then vs. 150 now…

Heck, maybe Dark Rising left IT because they knew they would have no home soon??

tbh it was a nice fight , we killed about half their scorpions but we didn’t have the alpha to actually turn the sides in heavy lag.

Goons maelstrom fleet was pretty effective in those conditions , but when you are outnumbering us almost 2-1 it’s hard not to.

My fleet window showed around 75 in fleet whole night. We lost a lot of people duo to IT jump bridges being out of fuel and the long way we were traveling ..

Once we came into PNQ, the lag struck and we spent next hour shooting down 5 scorpions .. Thats complete IM experience, right there!

Whoever says it was a great fight is wrong, it was laggy shitty fight, the only great thing is victory for goons/test.

And seriosly, it was first battle of this scale when I’ve seen with people loading mostly without 5-10 minute black screen. Also for me gun/module lag was acceptable most of the battle. IT was in system first, it’s hard for me to believe your lag was wrse than ours.

Also IT wanted us to not whine about lag “after we loose”… Well, I guess it’s too much to want the same from IT allies. :)

The Battleship Alpha was originally taken from a mix of Evoke and PL, not IT. The PL and Nazi fits though were fucking horrible. We thought they had randomly thrown salvage on their ships and went to war with that.

So Goons fixed the failfits so they would actually work, and adjusted the fleet to work best with the current drake blob doctrine, and from that you get the Goon’s Battleship Alpha.

In case you all didn’t understand that, think of it this way. You’ve got Cake. Cake is nice, but pretty plain, and then you’ve got German Chocolate cake. It’s still cake, they’re not claiming they invented the concept of cake, they just made cake 10x better.

I wasn’t there, but looking at the report I wouldn’t be surprised if the IT numbers were dramatically increased within a couple of days. They looked a little low to me. I think it might serve as a wake-up call. It seems there are usually a fair number of members of any alliance who “assume” “someone will take care of it” and then they don’t show up. Hopefully the Initiative numbers will be higher as well — as they should be — IT helped us out considerably.

The Goons came to win and got the job done. Great job by them. But this is still the first shot if the goal is to take Fountain and threaten Delve. It’s going to be an interesting couple of months.

I think you tend to get more pilots who will come out for the first big offensive than you do for a defensive in a region where the core of the alliance doesn’t really live. I think that’s just human nature and that alliances can sometimes get knocked around for a couple of battles before the numbers get bumped up on the defensive. Of course, if they never get bumped up we know what happens :-)

However far an inconvenient part of home might be, it’s closer than an offensive, and with JB support. Your largest numbers are almost always on defense fleets unless your logistics support, discipline and planning are crazy-good, in which case you get about the same.

In short, IT took a nap in prime-time. I expect that their alliance size will decrease in the coming months and their fleet sizes will increase as the previously complacent portion of the population divides between people with balls, and people without them.

Regarding Czech’s use of “concept” I think it’s a matter of English being his second language. I think he just meant to convey that the alpha battleships was the Goons battle plan or fleet composition. Guys need to give him a break. He puts a lot into this thing and we can generally get the idea even if the verbiage isn’t always precise for English. Give the guy a break. Most native English speakers probably don’t speak a second language as well as he does English.

Goonswarm didn’t invent the arty Maelstrom setup, it’s not a hard one to think up because there’s only like three Maelstrom setups that even work.

What Goonswarm DID that nobody else seems to have done, is give all their members a free Maelstrom for using their learning skillpoint reimbursement to get the necessary skills, and promised people that if we got fifty Maelstroms in a fleet that fleet can oneshot a carrier.

We now have no problem getting a hundred and fifty Maelstroms in fleet.

Is he that much of a figure in your life you need to make attacks on him and his family?

Its a game, your leader has given you an idol to hate. You hate the idol because it gives you focus and is the reason your leader told you to hate it. Without the object to hate your coalition would quickly unravel and start to internally fight. You probably did not play the game when bob had horns and made lesser alliances hide in the shadows.

IT is not bob, they are not in the same league.

Still if your friends are hating its good for you to hate and if your having fun not really knowing why your hating it, cool bro go all Dixie. I could draw some sad parallel to Nazi propaganda but its only a game and I am not really that arsed.

lag was ok with proper settings. took me maybe about 1 min to lock sth and maybe another one to get the guns start shooting. was way worse if you had bad overview settings and showed brackets and shit.

TBH IT losing Fountain might be a blessing in disguise for them, they get to purge the cearbear pet alliances, and take the actual pvper’s for themselves. They lose a region fine, but they get to go back to delve, and reinforce the only region they truly care about. And when the dust settles they won’t have to go far for fights, ZXB – Y-2.

So as much i as i have a distaste for IT, to say it’s the end for them is just ignorant.

According to this source ‘the IT Alliance allies had not been provided the POS password and many lost their ships just outside the POS shields’.
As far as I remember, it is not the first time, when allies were not allowed to go to the POS, or am I wrong?
What a nice ally IT Alliance.

I can tell you straight away that all INIT/IM had passwords, and I am sure that people outside the pos died either to lag, or their own fault .. Other Fountain residents should ve had their own towers ?

I have no doubt that GOONS and pets will take several systems in the next say 2 weeks.
But nobody here seriously believes that after the holiday season etc. is over they will be able to hold that space/take all of fountain with angry IT and residents next door.

Banner should read NC/goons hit………… oh yea and the testies. Oh and the banner is not big enough. Needs to be more ostentatious and nob slobbering. I would have expected more from the propaganda wing.

But they did their job. Collectively outnumbered IT and co. I don’t see it going as well, however, in the weeks ahead.

Looking forward to the next banner that will be buried somewhere in the sports section when IT prevails.

You sir do not know EVE. being outnumbered in this game really does not mean that much as people think it does. The main thing is IT brought the wrong ship for a lag fight. They did not drop any capital being scared to, with 200+ maelstroms they would of easily died. There was a point over com’s in which we started picking off all there FC’s and when a new one popped up he would be quickly die. The propaganda? Just a headline. Their are many alliance’s who out preform the general mindset that not having the numbers means you die out. I beg to difer. As much as PL did up in the north i give them a lot of props for doing what they do.

Thing is though Bob/IT have fought for everything they achieved, Goonies and co havent really fought for anything its all een given to them

They werent given Wicked Creek and all those other regions it was given to them because RA toleratred them, they didnt fight for Delve it was given to them via exploitive mean, if they had not disbanded BoB they would prob still hold Delve even now.
Deklien they havent fought for it its been given to them by the NC after TCF failed. All of the other members of the so called Deklien coalition havent fought for their space its all been given to them by NC after they lost their space in other areas. A coalition of loosers that has never fought for a damn thing has no chance against IT

Now Bob/IT on the other hand, they fought for delve and kept it theres for many years no one else was involved, They fought for Fountain against PL and co it wasnt given to them, fare enough they didnt fight for Delve, Goonies cocked up but at least BoB/IT didnt exploit it

The sooner it’s abandoned by the better. But if Goons, TEST and pals think they are going to setup shop there they are dead wrong. To us it’s going to become a nice buffer zone, no man’s land. Many great fights will happen there in the future, but no one will own it.

Goons stole our Shield Maelstrom Fit after we destroyed them with it in C3N. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or an complete idiot or both.

Now when will this site report of the many SBU’s and TCU’s we have killed in Fountain since PNQ was taken? 9-V SBU destoried, YVBE-E TCU gone, E-BWUU SBU also space dust. If Goons thinks one fight with most of our pilots on holiday is the end of this fight they are crazy. Most of our people are still moving back from Catch and so are our caps. Who ever is reporting that we had 10 Titans in systems is crazy. We had no were near that many, if we did we would of used them. Most of the Caps were Carriers from what I saw.

The funny thing is, you retard, that we used Alphafleet in C3N battle too (both Goons and TEST).

Also the sov structures you killed in Fountain so far had no strategical meaning. Your command didn’t have guts to even try taking PNQY back when our TCU was onlining. You killed a few undefended SBU’s/TCU’s – great victory!

And in PNQY I’ve seen at least 7 titans in your POS’s and many supercarriers. You’re that stupid/have no clue what was going on or you just like talking bullshit in public?

So I was mistaken, you did try to use the Mael fit but if you also look at the fight. We had more Carriers/Sups then you had Maelstroms. If you think the PNQ fight was anything close to what we can field if our members weren’t on holiday your crazy. You have until the New Year to take Fountain. Good luck with that.

yes, i did not move my stuff (NO YOU CANT HAVE IT) from catch to delkin in one day after our suicide op and was in fountain the next.
you, IT and pets, knew that PNQ was under attack for 2 reinforcement timers and knew when it was coming out. stop using the “people havent moved stuff yet” excuse. you really should start to look at your “online/offline” list in corp and start to kick all of your non attendees for “REDPEN OPS” since thats the way you roll.

btw, i do have a full time job and attend classes at night. so i do have a life outside of eve. thats why my posting sucks.

    1. And just think, IT disowned -a- and helped Init. (along with a dozen other alliances) take their space for similar reasons: they felt -a- didn’t help enough getting BoB’s old space back. I bet Sir Molle is thinking, “at least -a- sent more then 30 ships to our aid…….” IT may not be done but Init. sealed their fate, good luck finding prime systems in empire space Init. :)

Old news but numbers where terrible cause no one bother to explain to the membership that we where redeployed, thus half of the alliance was still scrambling to get shit together in GE when this went down. So laughing about 150 members in 5000 man alliance is retarded when the active part of the alliance is still deployed elsewhere.

anyway why are you guys blue balling us? seriously we had a fleet operating for 6 hours today, running into early USATZ and you guys didn’t show up.

i dont know if any of you have ever actually done combat in a real 1000+ fleet fight but u wouldnt talk smack so easy if you had. the effect of the lag disconnects the client/server sync so bad that you can look like you are warping and arriving at your destination while, to the server, you havent even aligned yet. the idea that people might enter POS passwords that havent authenticated due to server response time.
insult the leaders and big picture decisions all ya like but honor the soldier in the field dealing with all of this and just trying to survive.
